As at 9pm tonight the transfer window rating has soared to 2.5.
Good work by the transfer committee.
25/1: 1.25 26/1: 2.5
We've doubled our happiness.

Lets be blunt - the only reason we signed Wyke was because we met the minimum sale release clause; who actually thinks we would have signed him otherwise based on our policy since? Had there not been a clause almost anyone else interested would have outbid us. Strange logic unless you think others weren’t able to meet the asking price Never said that. If there’s a minimum clause all you have to do is meet it - paying £1 or £1,000,000 more doesn’t matter. The selling gift club has no leeway to pick a higher bid and ignore the other. It was probably pure luck no one else registered any interests. £250k or whatever it was was a bit of a steal for us and Carlisle were probably kicking themselves for not making it another £100-150k more.

"Lund is a shame but he appears to find himself in a similar predicament to Palmer. I have been mildly impressed with him when he played and he seemed to put in a good shift (quite lively - you knew he was on).
Warnock, I will drive him to Bradford."
Even mildly impressing in the Championship means that you're probably a very good league 1 player. Rochdale fans loved him and there's even a section of Burton fans would would have kept him. Loan or not, Lund on paper atleast is a brilliant signing.
The more I'm reading about Warnock the less impressed i'm becoming. It looks like we've signed a player who's ability is declining at a rapid rate and is well past his best. It is worth mentioning that the gulf in class between the Championship and League 1 is absolutely huge, so he might still be able to do a job in league 1. If he's making errors like the one iv'e just seen and it's not a one off, he's wont even be fit enough to play in league 2.

That's always the worry and the older the are the more likely it is to be true. Our transfer policy consists of far too may ifs, but and maybes to be considered promotion boosting material. Then again, I suppose it always has. P.S. You changing your rating again?

It's difficult to say how well we've recruited as 4 out of the 5 signings are 'unknowns' for various reasons such as age, the level they've played at etc. As a result, My thoughts on this window change depending on what mood I'm in. www.burtonmail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hasnt-worked-out-yet-matty-1124673

That big cunt up front looked the striking equivalent of Sattelmaeir. German and amateur. He looked like he'd won a competition to play for the first team. 'He's been brought in to help Wyke'. I hope he's carrying his boot bag or something then.

I hope he's carrying his boot bag or something then. Just another Rabiega, or that other one we got whose name I can’t remember. That’s another instance where a lot of us feel let down - there was the hope that we’d have some sort of set up with a German club, or would able to tap into their market. Instead we’re picking up players whose main attribute is a novelty name. Looking back over the window, I wonder what Derby are making of us not playing Guy in his usual position, while we’ve signed a 36 year old to paper over the cracks, someone from the Aladdin league (I just wonder how the fuck we came across that) and a German pub version of James Hanson. It’s not good enough to challenge for the top 6 in a poor league. Fuck knows what would happen to us if they did end up scraping promotion somehow - we’ve no foundation for that sort of level.

It literally is a real life version of 2017/18 football manager on the PC. Begging and borrowing recruits from places we've never heard of. Unfortunately you can't turn the computer of and start again in real life. What a fucking shambles this club has become behind the scenes. The bad smell of McMahon still around the place, manager and chairman at complete loggerheads, chief scout bringing in players from timbuktu, a young inexperienced lad on loan played out of position, a manager seemingly clueless to spot players out of form. Lets face it this has been an accident waiting to happen from the first day of the season, it's just taken the lighting of the blue touch paper, in this instance the January transfer window, to set the whole thing off. But hey, this forum has been banging on about it from the start. But do thr gompers listen to reason? Nah they're too busy happy clapping.

We’re not even noticeably building the development side of things. I thought that was going to be looked at from the under-5s all the way through to the first team. If the policy is just still to pick up cast offs it’s akin to building your house on sand.
With the ambition of Championship, even Premier League football?
Never going to happen.
