We sign 'trust to hope' players like McGovern or whatever he's called and the giant German of contracts and the one decent player of the window who's proven at this level is a loan.
The one likeliest to work out is the one who'll be going back to Burton ready for their League One campaign next season while we're left with the outside bets. This is wank.

Look at the deals in Division one this January at least 90% are loans. The German Actually plays for a Bundesliga team reserves so somebody has seen something in him

Too many maybes and unknowns because we're not prepared to pay the going rate. You, and other people like you with coat hanger smiles and Valium outlooks, will be asking 'what went wrong?' by the end of this season and, unbelievably, it really will come as a surprise to you.

I'm going up one point for the Lund signing. Would have been two but it's a loan.
Still, at least it'll put us on until the summer when we'll be prepared.

And so are the majority of teams in our league. They are taking loans because prices are so high in January. Yes I do think we have been taken by surprise by how the market has changed since Emergency loans finished because everything went smoothly last year. Example Mellor we agreed a price but Blackpool moved the goalpost because they can’t find a replacement. Should we play way over the odds for players not in my opinion. Like most other teams in this league loans are the way to go this window.

It’s certainly made clubs more reluctant to release players so pushing prices up. Hence early all loans in Jany

Hence early all loans in Jany Even if that's true, I seriously doubt that we'd have been prepared to pay the old rate, never mind the new one. We've missed out on all our top targets because we're not prepared to pay the asking price, regardless of what's driving that price. If we're operating on a lower budget to most then the protestations about getting our targets and going for automatic promotion need to stop because they're unrealistic.

Hence early all loans in Jany The January transfer window has always been a sellers market. Rahic and Mason have slipped up really by saying there was money available for a push when in reality there wasn't. It's clear from the feedback that the bids were not really serious, more like hoping that they would get lucky like they did with Wyke. If you have limited funds you are better off waiting to do your transfer dealings in the summer.

It raises serious questions about our summer transfer dealings and what effect that will have on season ticket sales? I'm not sure what the strategy is at the moment, there was money spent last summer but not on wages which were decreased and the money spent has had little effect on the side, if anything the free transfers of Taylor and Chicksen have been better value. Can we honestly say we would get cash offers for any of the players we paid money for, i would say no.

We've got one player that would sell for anything like a decent fee and that's pretty damning considering the number of players we've brought in so far under this new system.

I suspect 'they' (however 'they' is defined) have seriously miscalculated about how other clubs would simply sell their players if we asked nicely. There may well have been money for a promotion push but it looks to me that they have chosen not to splash the cash at this stage. I suspect that a new manager will be the beneficiary of an enlarged war chest come the summer. The problem we have now been facing was evident last summer - not enough quality in the squad, not enough experience, not enough numbers to deal with injuries, illness, sulking etc -and we chose to ignore the underlying problem. It's bitten us big time and we will have to wait for a few months for it to be rectified.

One thing it definitely doesn’t scream is potential for starting in Championship.
Lets say we do get promoted - based on what we have it’s going to need a hell of a summer recruitment to survive at that level.

It's obvious Stuart won't be here next year so the new man may get better backing.
