2 or 3 years ago one of the lads at work invited me to a games night at his house one Friday. I thought he must have one of those saddo mancave type mini-pubs in his garden so we'd play some pool, darts and a bit of cards. I was looking forward to it but worried my pool might be a bit shaky after years of neglect. He said his wife was going to give everyone a lift home after so we could have a few beers. Sweet. Turned up and it was a board games night. I'm in no position to call anyone sad as I like a game of chess but Settlers of Catan and Railroad Tycoon are not my idea of a boys' night. I'm now in a WhatsaApp group called 'Games Night' and get invited periodically. They had one last night but I couldn't make it. This morning one of the messages in the group chat reads 'Cheers fellas, lovely evening of questing!' and I'm part of that. Bet there was bumming involved somewhere amongst proceedings. nailed on. Not like you to mention bumming m8

In the same way that there's now more "Be careful about gambling, we don't want you to get addicted, no, honestly" ads than there are gambling ads on telly, I'm now getting fucking "do you want to opt out of our mothers day emails?" emails. I get why they're doing it, but surely if I'm going to get upset about an email flogging flowers then an email saying "want to give mothers day a miss this year?" is going to make me even worse.

This sort of guff gets right on my tit ends:
You’ve got to wonder if she’s actually trying to get a message to a three year old via Twitter (in which case she’s beyond stupid) or if what she’s actually saying is, ‘everyone, look at me. See what a great person I am and let me know just how great in the comments’.
Twitter is full of this needy shit.

I think she’s just sharing something nice that happened. You might be right but I doubt it. She’s written the whole Tweet as being ‘to the darling little boy’ rather than something she’s simply sharing. The point isn’t to cheer people up, it’s about her and the happiness she brought that little cherub. It’s very strange to me the way people seem to constantly need the validation of others. It’s like emotional catnip for them that other people, even complete strangers who they’ll never meet, are impressed by their impeccable character.

When the queen karks it, instead of it going to her son, we should just draw a name out of a hat. Republicans would be happy, cos we’ve got rid of the hereditary bit, and monarchists would be happy cos we’d be keeping the tourist pounds. Plus it’d be an actual lottery, instead of the lottery of birth.

Bet Putin never accounted for this: Couldn't the lazy cunt have done this 6 months ago before half of Ukraine was razed to the ground? He's only concerned now because he hoped to take his tourer around the NC500 in September.

Geller is the real deal. Granted I'm not sure he could do what he's suggesting but if you have a Google of the Stargate project that he, Ingo Swann and Russell Targ (amongst others) worked on then there's some pretty impressive evidence reported. Makes you wonder why he had to bend spoons to make a living though.

Well I guess this falls under the Bullshit section.
How can someone who killed 3 people in a stolen van be sentence to a mere 3 years before he will be free to roam the streets again. Our justice system is a joke when things like this happen and act as no deterrent at all.

Well I guess this falls under the Bullshit section. How can someone who killed 3 people in a stolen van be sentence to a mere 3 years before he will be free to roam the streets again. Our justice system is a joke when things like this happen and act as no deterrent at all. Starting point for sentencing is 8 years, maximum sentence is 14 years. There is a discount of up to 1/3 for pleading guilty. This prevents the victims' families having to sit through a trial. If there were no discount, everyone would plead not guilty and take their chances. The person involved was a child, which mitigates the sentence. Equally the fact the vehicle was stolen and three people died (though one of the dead had also stolen the van) is an aggravating factor. Guidelines here: www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/offences/crown-court/item/causing-death-by-dangerous-driving/Six years after the guilty plea discount (so nine years before the discount) is about where you'd expect a sentence to sit given the circumstances.

Our justice system is a joke when things like this happen and act as no deterrent at all. His stepdad can be proud knowing his knowledge of nicking vans and the tools in them didn't go to waste, now passed down the generations. And with his real dad braying his mum when he was younger, it's hardly surprising he turned out like the little cunt he has.

It’s the new, ‘jog on’.
