I doubt anything of note will happen today in terms of incoming players. We could do with an additional 3 or 4 players but will probably just end up with a loan goalkeeper. Ed has mentioned that there could be a surprise departure today, one of our strikers apparently. I have no idea who he's talking about though.
overall I can see it being a day of frustration. I'm sure we'll be linked with every single player going but nothing concrete will happen as usual. Let's see...

I can see possibly a loan keeper but that's it.

When I 1st saw Ed's post I thought he was taking about himself stepping aside. I'll be glad when today is over. The fuckwits throwing random names into the ring who we should sign is tedious.

We won't sign anyone. Best to do something else until 23:00 IMO.

I'm not expecting anything to materialise but I wouldn't be surprised if we get linked with a couple of names only for the deal to get called off or to be dismissed as nothing more than a rumour, hence frustration. The club will probably feed Parke bollocks too so he can fill up his blog. It happens every transfer window.

Oh you can guarantee we'll be linked to a couple of big names, Parker will fuel the rumours but we'll just run out of time. Don't worry, we'll be prepared for January though.

When's the loan deadline? That's our market. 11pm. Like being in Blue Lace at 3am as the lights go on, and frantically trying to find a fatty to fuck.

Man City due a large slice of that? That should come in dead handy for them, that. Piss take really. I seem to remember that they inserted a 40% of any profit clause in when we signed him. Since we signed him for fuck all whatever we're due in the sell on would see 40% going to Man City. Load of bollocks.

Would you rather we'd paid an up front fee for him? This way we've made whatever it was Fleetwood paid (£75k?) plus a sell on. All of this for a shit footballer. Don't think we can complain too much about the Man City sell on fee.

Don't think we can complain too much about the Man City sell on fee. I don't have any problem with the principle. And leaving aside the unlikelihood of it ever happening, I wouldn't have had a problem with a buy back clause. But honestly, you're talking about a club that's shitting money. Nearly £2b their owners have pumped in over the years. This summer alone they've spent £130m on 3 full backs. Insisting on a 40% sell on clause for a player sold to a plodding league one club. So if ever he was sold on, almost certainly for the sort of fee that could make a meaningful difference to a lower league club but do no more than top up the stationary budget for a club like City, the lower league club takes a dry one. I'm not just saying it cos it's us, but if they actually demand that % then they're a set of greedy cunts.
