Just spent £215 on a record player and it’s coming via Hermes. I think we all know how this ends. Fucking whopper. A scratchy record rather than the pure digital perfection of an mp file. Analogue eared toilet. This is my honest opinion but my morals are skewed when it suits. Had a colleague in my car for a work thing and Joy Division were on. ( I'd set my Spotify to play decent songs in advance rather than having that embarrassing Justin Timberlake banger come on randomly. That's just for me) She said oh, I love Joy Division. When I asked if she likes New Order she said yeah and guess what I've got the original Substance LP. Then she starts telling me about the Fleetwood Mac records she's got and all the rest of it and I'm nodding and joining in as if it's just the coolest thing in the world because I'd like to play with her boobs.

Spotify was a step too far for me. There’s no way I’m paying to access music by subscription when I can own it. When I decided I wanted to own physical copies I didn’t really fancy CD’s so went back one more step to vinyl. Having done that and done a bit of research I ended up going a bit daft trying to put together a setup that makes vinyl sound ‘like it should’. I ended up with a Rega Planar 3 turntable, a Cambridge A60 amplifier and AR18 speakers that together cost the thick end of a grand and it sounds superb so fuck Spotify. Good luck wiv de tiddies but move fast because by the time you’re on tiddy number two she’ll be on a purely liquid diet.

Lads, I’ve got one of those life hacks that the kids talk about. Co-op’s own brand Cornettos are better than actual Cornettos. Thank me later.

Spotify is ok, it's like your own personal jukebox without the faff of having to change cd, record, or cassette. Are you back into cassettes yet you hipster toilet? No joy with the boobies, turns out she's got a boyfriend. Hopefully they'll split up and I'll get a turn.

I've been reduced to reading the rolling news ticker as you lot aren't posting enough.
The Dean Windass quote is good and I liked the 'remember when neshead was cool' one but I think the chess piece recovery is the funniest one.

Is the "neshead sucks farts out of distinguished gentleman" still there? An old favourite.

I reckon Hobhead for the Windass quote so, unless you're into self-deprecating humour, yours must be the 'remember when neshead was cool' one.

Handed my notice in an hour ago. Feels fucking great.
Almost had a breakdown last year, this year has been shit and I feared another one coming, topped it off today my finding out someone has put in a complaint against me... thought of Johnny Paycheck and I don't need this shit. May get signed off for my notice period as well, depends how many of my bridges I want to burn and how much of a cunt I want to be.

Sun is shining, I've got some new Aldi garden furniture arrive a few days ago and lager in the fridge, happy Friday! Stress is a killer man, always better to be happy. That's the biggest lesson I've learnt over the last 12-15 months. Work stress will rot through every part of your life, bad enough when it's on you but when it affects those around you it's gone too far. At its worst last year after months of long hours, little sleep, working weekends and holidays after one horrendous day I broke down completely and just wandered around the house aimlessly for an hour. A few days later I almost lashed out at my 3 year old and I had to call for help. I was disgusted at myself it had come to that. 40 people are in my team at work and 6 have signed off with stress over the last 6 months, 2 good line managers left, one person walked out, 2 others have had to take medication.... For what, pushing buttons on a keyboard? It's not like a genuine illness or really shitty life situation to be in. For anyone else suffering with stress, don't suffer through it if you know it's happening. Guy at my work in the finance department killed himself about 5 years ago due to it.
