I see a rising of the Mask Nazis. Anyone who doesn't wear a mask is putting everyone else at risk.
There seems to be a strong link between those who hate this government and those who want to government to tell them what to do at all times. Strange that.

Like Neshead said above, plenty of people have done well out of lockdown. People have saved money, had more time for families and hobbies, it’s been better for the environment, people have got healthy and haven’t eaten those shit triangle sandwiches. People wouldnt want to let go of that, the old way was shit why should we rush back to it. That’s a slightly one-sided view of what lockdown entails. The other is having your movements tracked, being told who can and can’t visit your house and in what numbers, having when you leave your house and within what radius controlled, being heavily coerced to join in the ridiculous pantomime of mask wearing, being put under ten day house arrest even if you’re asymptomatic should you happen to have been near someone who tested positive and could also be asymptomatic. And when all this gets too much and you fancy a pint or a meal out, make sure you log in, have your temperature taken, don’t move from your seat unless you have to and wear a mask if you do - assuming, of course, that these establishments are allowed to open at all. I can almost feel myself unwinding as I type. Any infringement on our liberties should be viewed with the utmost suspicion but now the precedent is set: the right set of circumstances present themselves and the governments power grows massively. Make no mistake, we’re in dangerous territory here. This goes beyond Covid.

You can normally rely on the left for a bit of civil disobedience, especially under a Tory government, but not this time. This time your side are acting like government stooges and self-appointed Covid marshals brow beating anyone who expresses even mild concern as to the direction we’re heading in as ‘covidiots’ and ‘anti vaxxers’. Where’re the poll tax rioters of yesteryear when you need them?

Like everything it’s got super polarised into granny killers and covidiots; it’s a shame we can’t have any nuance in debate any more because there have been some massive negatives and massive positives of the changes over the last eighteen months. My worry is that in the rush for ‘Freedom Day’ and ‘getting back to normal’ we’ll lose sight of that and it’ll be back to all the bad of pre-covid as well as the good.

Nobody knows who to hate anymore. Marx's chaos theory in action. Commies taking over at last. Long live the revolution.

"Freedom lovers" versus "proponents of zero Covid". Jesus wept. The anti-mask lot would be the first in line to hand over civil liberties if they were told there was a war on. What a hot take that isn't. Having had 18 months of "Covid will kill everyone", it's no wonder people are nervous about the end of restrictions. I don't think it's any more than that. Our border's just reopened (to vaccinated people) after 18 months locking everyone out and I'm nervous about the tourists coming over, even though it's the right thing to do. Our border restrictions were the thing that stopped us struggling with Covid too badly (no masks here! A normal Christmas here!) so nervousness when the restrictions go is understandable.

Its all bollocks. 'The government will not be introducing covid passports' and yet this mornings news is full stories about how the hospitality industry WILL be making covid passport requirements a rule of entry.
Get fucked.

Vaccine passports Confirmed from end of September for large events and nightclubs. What a fucking joke This won’t withstand any legal challenge. How do the vaccinated on here feel about this measure? I've had one jab and think vaccine passports are abhorrent. Whether you choose to have the vaccine is entirely your choice and I can see both the pros and cons of it. I suppose you have to weigh the cons up against the risk of getting ill with covid. They know they can't really make vaccines themselves compulsory so they go through the back door with this shit by denying you access to 99% of entertainment and hospitality venues. Its medical apartheid in my view. We can only hope to see france style riots soon as they've already made Macron start to bottle it.
