Hob, I think you predicted a backlash when it all came out about the care home scandal. I'll bet these non-stick fuckers get away with it scot free. It made no sense how we repeated the mistakes of countries who’d suffered before us with everything we knew about how the disease was fatal almost exclusively for the elderly and those with pre existing health conditions. It was so utterly retarded as to look deliberate. We could have avoided a lot of those deaths. As to whether they’ll get away with it or not then they probably will. Haven’t watched the clip but what (if anything) they get charged with will be key.

Just watching this Mone interview, and it’s mad how rich really, really stupid people can get.
“I didn’t benefit, my family didn’t benefit. That £60m is my husbands money.”

That £60m is my husbands money.” She is, by quite some margin, the most disgusting person I’ve ever had the misfortune of having to deal with. To press they have been untouchable. HMRC have repeatedly fined companies linked to Barrowman for tax avoidance, but for people like him the fines are just the cost of doing business. They’re no real sanction.

She is untouchable. Despite this being incredibly clear malfeasance, all that’s gonna happen is she’s left the House of Lords and the £350 daily allowance. She’s got the big score and she gets to keep it. If I was labour and by hammering the Tories for all the corruption during Covid.

And not just Covid, it's corruption since Brexit, which we all know is there, and just needs a bit of digging. They could absolutely hammer it into the public that these are the people in power, but are more concerned with getting you to look a dingy in the channel or a ban on dangerous dogs. Unless of course, a lot of Labour were benefitting as well...

Pretty sure there’s evidence that it slowed procurement from actual PPE manufacturers so Matt Hancocks mate down the pub could make a few mil. I really don’t understand why this but fo covid is getting ignored, unless they think people don’t understand it, like Mone assuming people won’t know how a trust works cos they don’t have one.

Totally, that was more a general point. There's always been corruption and cronyism but the recent wars, Brexit, Covid and the recovery etc has seemingly made many across more sides more brazen and blasé in what they can try and get away with and the amounts involved. It's not some sparky doing a cash in hand job, or someone with a mummy business trying to make an extra £50-100 a week, the amounts are mind-boggling. Overall though it fits in with the dumbing down of society over the last few decades in terms of demanding and protesting. Seems to be the stiff upper lip, keep calm and carry on mentality where to protest, take action that actually impacts something etc is seen as poor form, anti-British and something that is done by smelly hippies on one side and full-on ultra right wingers on the other. But that's another topic altogether. I wonder if Mone didn't grease someone's hands along the way, which is partly why the attention is all focused on her.

Wouldn't mind her greasing my hands, as long as she didn't talk.
