Tallness adds the nuisance factor. In top trumps nuisance factor always wins.

Roger Owen on bantam talk saying it's Ferguson or Martin drury. This just gets worse everyday At least either of them, or Fergie Jr and Drury as assistant, will show Edin up to have been talking shite about a long search for a head coach who buys into his cunning plan.

Tell you what, in the highly unlikely event that this does turn out to be Wolf I'll be the first to doff my cap to Uncle Edin. It might even be the spur that convinces me to renew.
If it's Ferguson though he can fuck off.

anthony oconnor is another great bit of business by the club. the club certainly are doing well bringing in a high class of player who can perform the way the team should. hope you all agree that these signings show the club is thinking in the correct direction. tall strong players. you don't know football

Riley and O'Connor look decent, Wright and that Bayern Munich kid look a bit meh. The jury's still out for me, although admittedly we've made a better start than some of the dogshit we were signing last season.

Yep. Fairly Average recruitment at present, so it's better than the shite of last summer.
Need a min of 2-3 attacking players of real quality though. Also need McCartan to stop being a fanny. And Poleon to find spirituality and retire from football to be a Franciscan monk.

I can see us being a lot better at the back. Even the most pessimistic of fans would struggle to argue that McGowan, O'Connor, Riley isn't an improvement on NKP, Kilgallon, McMahon. I can still see us bringing in another left back who is better than Chicksen to go with what we have. Unfortunately I can see us having problems at the other end of the pitch. Quality attacking players cost money and we seemingly don't have a lot of it. Our best hope is that we take a gamble on someone like Seedorf and he comes off and can replicate something similar to what Marshall did. I think a lot of our success next season will depend on the success of our punts, and that includes relative unknowns like Riley.

That's if another club comes in for him, there doesn't seem to be an awful lot of interest at the moment. In January he was on course to get 20+ goals which is enough to get Championship clubs interested. I can't imagine many will be after someone who scored 15 league goals with 3 of them being penalties. If we got offered 500k we'd be daft not to take it.

What goods 500k if 480k of that make it into Rupp and Rahic’s bank accounts?

There's no way another club would sell us a 15-20 goal a season striker for 500k. And according to Mr Iknowfootball, the replacement can't cost more than the original player was sold for. I'd rather we kept him and let him go for free

I do think he has it in him to score regularly but he goes missing for large parts of the season too frequently for it to be a possibility at the moment. You could argue that he didn't get much service but I also remember him being completely useless during the back end of our Wembley season, where he offered absolutley nothing. No coincidence. I'm not sure who we would bring in as his replacement but 500k for a club like us is about 25% of our budget. Is that what his worth is at the moment? I'd argue not.

Wolf now bookies favourite again. Betting has been all over the place for this job.
The bookies change odds when money is put on the line. We've had several hot favourites that have come and gone and come again. Presumably people had good info and speculated a bit of cash on it and the person offered the job has knocked it back time and again.
I don't know anything about this wolf chap.
