lots of talk of Darren Moore on twitter...but he's doing quite well in premier league...why on earth would he want to come to a tinpot league 1 side like us? crackers. Moore is one of the more ridiculous suggestions. Firstly he's quite literally out of our league and secondly he's managed the sum total of five games in his entire managerial career. The only reason(s) City fans want him or are connecting him with the job is that he used to play for us and he's on the telly a bit lately. It's lazy and it's unrealistic.

It'll be someone from league two who'll see the modest budget we have as a step up. Someone who's used to polishing shite and making the collective greater than the sum of its parts. Or maybe someone from bottom end league one.
John Coleman has done a great job at Accy but it's probably a case of the right man at the right club. The fella at Shrewsbury will have better offers even if they don't go up.
Bottom line - managers who know what it takes to succeed at this level won't be interested as we've made clear we won't pony up. So we can only attract someone who'll be taken in and then find that they're either out of their depth or the job is much harder than they'd anticipated.
We've had two proven managers at this level both fuck off sharpish when they've sussed out the owners. The one who didn't was sacked despite having the highest win rate at the club for the last 30 years.
Fuck me

Dave Unsworth would be interesting. Shite with evertons first team but highly rated on the youth side.

Cotterill's rattled in in the betting. Can't see it. Rosler or a relative unknown would be my guess. Might as well give Mark Bower a go instead of all the usual lower league failures

A lot of our fans still seem to need a dose of reality when it comes to our ambitions under this board. Any manager under contract will not be considered. There won’t be any compensation paid.

Did I dream someone suggest them two fuckers from Salford City? I've seen it suggested. in no way is that a good idea. they are two thugs who just shout and scream and swear at their players. National League North is very much their upper level. they nearly bottled promotion this time but sumbled over the line. they could not succesfully lead a club in the National League proper nevermind League 1. the class of 92 know this and that's why they aren't there anymore.

I'm not convinced by that. They're happy making one off payments, but not long term commitments. If someone's under contract at, say, Port Vale and there would be compensation but he wouldn't get paid much, that's their market. Ref: Dom Poleon, Shay McCarten, Jake Reeves.

Any player not getting paid much is quite clearly at the bottom end of the shit pile. Any player worth his salt will have been scouted by numerous clubs, the fact we aimed for the players you mention tells me no else rated them enough to make a better bid for them. At the fans forum Abbott mentioned a few clubs were interested in McCartan, it certainly wasn’t off the back of his form with us and i can guarantee those interested clubs wouldn’t be crossing our palms with silver.

Yes. Well get the managerial equivalent of Dom Poleon this time.
