Been checking Twitter and that other forum. Almost everyone sticking up for him. "He's only had a year!" etc. Fans of other clubs are pissing themselves because they know he's shit.

I don't think we should sack him. But I wouldn't be disappointed if he left.

He’s a petulant baby too:

This idea that we should stick with him because ‘sacking managers hasn’t worked’ is so devoid of logic it’s hard to even begin.
Sticking with a manager because you’ve sacked others before him is idiotic because it assumes you’ve alighted on just the right man at the very moment you’ve decided that you’ve sacked too many managers.
If he’s the wrong man then he’s the wrong man regardless of what and who’s gone before him.
I’m praying someone is dumb enough to poach him.

Stronger league next season. Couldn't even get into the autos this season despite it being a piss poor league. Imagine getting into the playoffs again with his approach and tactics? Not for me. Should be shown the door.

He needs time.
What you mean like Wellens and Evans had, or even Simpson?
Yesterday after we came back to 2-2 in the tie the most fucking ridiculous substitution I have ever seem took place. One that summed up Hughes's tenure as our manager.
A safety first what we have we hold bullshit choice that would have put us at best to penalties. It hasn't worked all season and infact pretty much the same substitution cost us a shot at automatic promotion because he put on a 3rd centre back against Gillingham after we had taken the lead.

No point taking on any manager who has had two successful appointments. The likelihood of 90% of managers having a third successful job is zero to nothing. Better off taking a punt on a younger guy. Been thinking about this a bit more. Lincoln took a punt on the Cowleys and they turned the club around, now look at them. I’m not sure I’d go for the Cowleys themselves, not after their time at Portsmouth. But we should be looking at non-league and looking for a manager who’s on the way up, instead of looking at those on the way down. I’d have Mike Williamson from Gateshead. Under 40 and has done wonders there despite all the shit they’ve had to deal with. Plays decent football too. The Gateshead fans love him.

Think Williamson is a good shout.

Did Williamson sign Robinho? No. This is why Hughes is the best manager we’ve had in years.

The Cowleys struggled because Esner turned the tap off and there's been a lot of infighting at the club.
If Rugbyknob had just listened to us and gotten Wellens then everything would be different, but because he hasn't got a clue about football he picked someone he'd heard of as a kid. There's now very little quality about and let's face it Hughes is too arrogant to walk and Sparks doesn't have the balls to get rid because it would mean he's fucked up yet again.

Yeah the whole "i stumbled across Hughes' application after checking the junk-mail" story doesn't exactly smack of professionalism on Sparks' part. Not that i'm defending Hughes, but he did mumble something about our playing budget not being as big as is made out in one of his recent interviews. I suppose he'd argue our league position is roughly in line with that. It seems to be the annual spunk what budget we have on a couple of high earners... at least one of which is inevitably shit or injured... and fill the gaps with shite, loans and gambles. Absolutely no discernible blueprint despite all the marketing bs. Another thing i don't get is the Pereira situation... The way he came back with all the fanfare then barely got a sniff... which lead to Luton bitching about our setup in one of the tabloids. Surely we wouldn't freeze him out just to be petty, would we? At least he's half capable of retaining possession unlike the headless chickens who are above him in the pecking order

Do we actually have a scouting system? Apart from Stephen Gent's Filofax.

DM fucking H I seriously think Sparks thought if enough clubs go bust due to Covid we'd go up by default.

At least he's half capable of retaining possession unlike the headless chickens who are above him in the pecking order I genuinely can’t work out if Rupp has given him fuck all to spend or if Hughes just hasn’t signed well enough. I seriously doubt Rupp’s given him the biggest budget in the division. I know people are hard on Smallwood but I think he and Lewis were good signings. It’d be interesting to see whether Osadebe was one of the big signings too, and we’ll never know how he’d have gone after that Doncaster cunt broke his leg 20 minutes into the season.

Didn't a big chunk of budget come from selling those kids to Wolves and Brighton? And also the goalkeeper to Leeds or was that a bit before then?
Haven't sold any kids this season... budget next year is going to suck.

Also wasted a small fortune sacking Adams and doing the whole badge rebrand thing. Don't forget we'll also be selling Lewis to Stockport for 50k when they go up. "Tell you what Mr Sparks. Let's put in a clause for Harry. We'll give you 5 million quid if he ever plays for Papa New Guinea."Fucking hell you're on."
