We're stuck. Rupp doesn't really give a fuck as long as we're not costing him money. Sparks is keeping us ticking over within budget and even making a bit extra with sponsorship deals. Of course Rupp would love us to be successful with a promotion because it makes him look good. As long as we're not going down or at risk of it I think they'll stick with Hughes. Perhaps they'll decide not to renew his contract in the summer but I've got no confidence that they'd employ someone more suitable.

I'm not convinced Rupp even knows what goes on half the time... beyond looking at the balance sheet every so often. I've said it before and i'll say it again... too many charlatans at this club who are probably more than happy to keep Rupp at arms length. God forbid if he actually took an interest he might actually employ some competent people. I'll give Sparks his dues for developing the commercial side, but, jesus, he shouldn't be anywhere near the playing side given his poor track record of football related decisions. We need a proper football strategy headed by someone who actually knows what they're doing... reporting directly to Rupp (if he gives a fuck). If not we need new ownership

Imagine being Mark Hughes. Premier League icon, international, played for Barcelona, Bayern, Chelsea - some of the biggest clubs in the world, managed some big teams...
Called into the 30 year old CEOs office - who 3 years ago was writing Twitter posts - to be told it's not working and you're sacked 😂😂😂

He’s the only guy there with any footballing background and, while the whole of the rest of the operation is focussed on marketing and PR, the chances of success or failure rest more or less entirely on his shoulders. I’m no Hughes fan and never have been but it must be a little demotivating to look around and realise that, when it comes to the one thing the club needs more than anything else, you’re on your own. This will be especially true when it dawns on him that, should he somehow fashion success from a shitshow, there’ll be an oily gobshite or a portly stranger with a beard and a foreign accent elbowing their way to the front to nab some of the credit for themselves.

In Hughes defence last night we should have had a comfortable lead against a very limited side, Cook missing a pretty easy chance, Walker hitting the post, Tulloch yet again not being able to shoot in a good position and ol poppadom hands letting in a howler. That said once he started making subs it was like a version of pin the tail on the donkey, blindly flailing about hoping he makes a home run. 18th in league 2 is worse than owt seen under Adams or Bowyer, despite a full reset, a new manager who got his own assistant and a recruitment director fixated with North East players, we still flatter to deceive.

I'll be surprised if he gets sacked to be honest. I think the only thing he has in his favour is he hasn't lost the players, not publicly anyway, and that line 'we don't give managers enough time' which is being rattled around.
The only thing that could make it happen is if we go into freefall and drop further down the table / lose more games by 3 or 4, a la the 18/19 relegation season.
You can see that freefall happening this month. Swindon, Wimbledon, Wrexham and MK Dons - 6th, 2nd, 9th and 11th. Then rock bottom Sutton.
If he can't get some wins out of that lot you have to wonder what the point of giving him another transfer window and the rest of the season is.
As said many times, he's had 82 games, 3 transfer windows and has brought in more than 3 teams' worth of players. All incapable of playing the way he wants us to play, and we look miles off the very average standards of last season.
How much time do we give him to find players who can play the style he wants to - Are we going to see another load of outgoings and 10 brand new players come in in January in another attempt to throw things at it and see what sticks?

By Xmas he will have had 100 games how many managers get given that long with constant failure? The bloke has been barracked by every clubs fans that he's managed, he's built this team and is guilty of keeping the worst players on after their contracts have run out.
He's a fucking fraud and only people who know fuck all about football can't see it

The biggest reason he's safe is Sparks. Another manager sacking, and he's signing off on his own P45. Hughes is doing what most 'big name' managers often do when they drop down the leagues; over complicating things and assuming players of low ability are able to do things that they aren't. The reason that the likes of Evans, Parkinson etc get success is through simplicity. Even Adams - his plan generally works, he was just given shite to work with.

He's weakened his own squad has Hughes, that's the biggest thing you can throw at him.
Getting rid of Young, signing garbage. Pathetic.

11 games in last season and we had won 6, drawn 3 and lost 2. We scored 18 goals in those games (Cook scoring 9)
This season 11 game in and we have won 3, drawn 4 and lost 4. We have scored 12 in those games (Cook scoring 5)
Basically the difference between this season and last season is that Lewis and Cook masked Hughes failings with glimpses of quality from Wright and Banks over the season. With Lewis looking low on Confidence and Cook being injured for part of the season the whole house of cards has come falling down, and the complete lack of quality beyond the two mentioned has been laid bare.
Last year was no different to now with the defensive first dinosaur tactics, everyone in the box for corners and free kicks, men behind the ball etc. It's just that Lewis and Cook between them secured so many points we effectively moved from being a dire midtable side to a play off side by accident.
What is even more surprising is that when we went to Swindon last season with 5 games left at a time when Swindon had won about 1 in 20 it was in our own hands for an automatic promotion spot. Of course we lost that, we then did the classic Platt for Banks sub whilst battering Gillingham to spend the last 5min camped in our own box and to deservedly conceed off the back of negative tactics to then make any chance of the automatics be a pipe dream.
Hughes owes any kind of success he has had at BCAFC to Lewis and Cook, infact all the players do. Going forward if Cook and Lewis have a good game we are likely to win, if either of them aren't 100% the best we can hope for is a draw because literally no one else Hughes has brought in makes a difference and they definately don't make a difference when you play them out of position because you have run out of ideas.
It's clear he isn't going, he should have been gone by mid morning if he was going to be sacked, so this shitshow carries on.
Swindon, Wimbledon, Wrexham and MK Dons. It's not going to get any better.

Soundbyte Sparks is too scared to do it isn't he?
There will be less than 8000 there on Saturday and we go a goal down early and the tartan blankets will be raining down on the pitch.

19 hours without a single tweet from the club must be a record.
