Ideally someone who has no ability playing there and who has never done so in their career prior to coming to us.

How did Longridge do last night? The brief bit I saw of him against Cambridge he was dreadful. Unless that was atypical I'd have Wood in at left back.

The last time I saw Wood play he was shit scared of the ball and couldn't even make a 5 yard pass. It might have been Gillingham last season.
He still has that rawness to his play but looks like a someone that can definitely improve. I reckon he'd have been twice the player he is now if he was starting games ahead of Chicksen last season.

Definitely getting beaten. Didn’t they batter us in the auto windscreens shield last season?

I know it's early days but the next 2 games are going to define us as we're playing 2 of the worst teams in the division. Fail to pick up a win and it's safe to say we've got big problems.

In my opinion we’ve got a decent (potentially good) defence and a dangerous attack. If we end up in trouble it will really highlight just how bad that midfield is. I’ve asked this question before about other players but who the fuck scouted Akpan? Abbott gets away with his fair share of the blame simply because Rahic was the figurehead and Abbott is ‘one of our own’. That man is dangerous because he’s utterly fucking clueless about what makes a footballer while making his living as a scout/head of recruitment. One thing he does do though I’d make a mockery of the oft-heard notion that we should, ‘leave it to the professionals’.

The bulk of our fans deny Abbott's involvement in recruitment completely overlooking that the alternative is him sitting on his arse stealing a wage for 3 years, whilst endorsing the regime that nearly ruined us. It's just easier and far less damaging for his image to admit what every fan with ounce of rationality already knows, which is that he was the spearhead of recruitment and failed miserably. Not only are Akpan and Wright two of the worst City players of all time but they were signed to play together as a pair presumably because our head of recruitment thought they would compliment one another. You couldn't pick out a worse midfield pairing if you tried.
