I love McCall but he was to blame for the Sheffield Utd defeat. As usual spent more time worrying about the opposition. Hung Dieng out to dry that day with his weird team selection. Noo, he was told to pick that weird team...…. Another one of those bullshit rumours that do the rounds. I'm sure Rahic will have had something to say with regards the way we play because there were times that season where we were too negative. If people (not you Bacon) are insinuating that Rahic told him to pick the team he did then they are fools.

Wasn't it against them at home that he played McArdle and Kilgallon as full backs in order to counter their attacking centre backs who would pop up at the far post?

Could have been, although i do remember him worrying himself daft about Plymouths heading ability from the CBs. When they were bottom. And we got beat.

If people (not you Bacon) are insinuating that Rahic told him to pick the team he did then they are fools. Of course he fucked up his selection for the Chef U game, as he did for the Plymouth at home and Walsall away as a few more examples. However the list of games where he clearly fucked up is way shorter than the games where he didn't.
McCall would have had us promoted last season if they had simply built on the playoff final squad without a doubt in my opinion. Somehow he managed to keep us in the playoff places even after having the rug pulled from underneath him which is impressive but predictably it would not last because of all the other shite he had to deal with.
McCall was not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but fuck me his sides were far more enjoyable to watch than Grayson's, HopkinS's and the Fun Hoover's any day of the week.
All this look at his Scunthorpe side is utter bollocks because its a different situation, it falls into the same bucket as "Yea but could Guardiola do it at Stoke?"...of course he wouldn't have Stoke winning the Premier League because the players aren't at the same level as Aguero, Silva etc. FFS

^this basically.
I don't think Edin told him what ream to pick for Sheff Utd, but I do believe that Edin would have encouraged him to 'be more adventurous' then hung McCall out to dry when it went tits up.
Obviously he wasn't perfect, he wouldn't be managing in League 1 if he was, but he's better than any of the rest we've had. And that six months of massive over-achievement could ultimately save us from the Non-League.

The squad from the first half of last year? The one that played much better football than Parkinsons ever did? He massively overachieved with those players, which in my opinion is down to his man management style, the players would genuinely do anything for him. But when it went wrong there was no plan B, I'm not even sure there was a plan A. Don't get me wrong, I love Stuart, I'd love him to be still involved at City, but a great manager he certainly isn't. It’s those man management skills which would probably make a him a good assistant manager working alongside somebody who knows what plan B looks like on game day. Fergie worked with some good assistants who failed to crack it in their own right, Phelan, Kidd, Queiroz even Schteve McLaren.

I get what you mean but is this more of the same 1st offer is final and we won't negotiate bollocks? Because if it is then we won't be signing anyone with any quality and will be left with the shit as usual.

If he is making what he thinks is a fair market offer then why should we offer more just cause the agent say so.
I think previously the problem was we weren't making fair market offers

If we keep playing the way we are he can do and say whatever the hell he wants!!
There can't be many teams in the football league who are getting to watch the sort of football we're being served at the minute

The woman who sits behind me, who referred to Harris Vuckic as “Vutch-kitch” (because apparently that IS how you pronounce it), calls Bruenker simply “Kai” (like they know each other from growing up on the estate)..calls David Hopkin “Hopkinson”.

Pretty sure @hoochy had a whole thread dedicated to shit like this on the old C&B? About folk sitting round about you on match day. Should be resurrected.

I did, it was called 'Your New Seat' and it was a VERY amusing thread. Steady on, lets not get carried away. Could have done a piece on Matalan Man at Luton. But the moment’s gone. Must be some candidates at Forres, or are they fairly normal?

Yes Davva, yes Rozza. That's right, Skazza. Do you ever wonder what they’re up to these days, post Andrew Davies? Or have you emotionally severed all links since your move?
