www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/16201916.Bradford_City_joint-owner__We_have_learned_our_lesson_this_season/What do you make of this? The positives: They've accepted that they've made errors no mixed messages regarding our financial prowess , he's made it very clear that they don't want have large debts and can only spend what they earn the negatives: If we can only spend what we earn, our budget is looking lower midtable at best, taking into consideration that season ticket sales have dropped by a 1/3 The chances of keeping Grayson on a tight budget are slim According to the article we are spending investing in youth which is money that's can be spent on the first team, so have lessons really been learnt?

I think it's bollocks.
“We will do our best. We will work hard to come out of this situation over the next months. “I think we have learned our lesson.”
Well that's great, and I should fucking hope so. The problem is, putting it right is going to cost money. And its going to take a lot of skill and it's going to require the empowerment and buy-in from many people. And that's where we're going to be fucked.
“We have bought this club for very honest reasons,” he added.
Probably true. Doesn't stop them from being utterly incompetent and unqualified though.
“There has been a lot of success"
Has there? What success? No big individual player successes - our best players left for free. Nearly going up isn't being successful. It's nearly being successful. We're fucking great at nearly doing stuff aren't we?
“But this is sport and that’s something that has to do with football. We have to go through this." Do we? Why? From being so close last season, there was ZERO reason why we 'had to go through this'. “We are here to guarantee a certain amount of stability. This year we have achieved that, so the club is financially stable, which I think is quite important". How are we more stable? We didn't have debt when they arrived and we're still constrained by spending what we generate - and revenue is going down this summer. They've reduced running costs and diluted the quality of the squad as a result.
“You see other clubs in League One and English football that cannot provide that."
Couldn't give a fuck mate.
“This was our first and foremost thing we wanted to achieve. We don’t want to get any debts and overstretch, we can only spend what we earn.” “We have spent a lot of money and effort in the youth department over the last 18 months. You have seen some players on the pitch already, Tuesday for example."
There we have it. No indication that money will be invested to strengthen the first team, and they clearly think that by filling the squad with shite like Patrick, Gibson, Pybus, Hanson, Gunner etc is a good thing.
They just think 'trust us, we'll just work a bit harder' is what it takes.
There's nothing in that speech to inspire confidence. They simply don't get it. Their plan isn't working, won't work, IS and WILL CONTINUE to take the club backwards.
We're fucked, boys and girls.

You know what, I'd take mid table league 1 with a team of our own kids. Maybe of that's what they want to do they could communicate that to the manager. Maybe even get a manager whose strengths are in man management. Maybe one who came through the youth teams at City. But instead they talk vaguely about promotion and vaguely about investing in youth.
What's the point in playing loan players if you're meant to be developing youth? Why get a manager "who knows how to get out of this division" if you want to bring kids through? Why invest all your revenue budget in the youth if you're aiming for the championship?
Just make your fucking minds up and let us know which it is. I'm just confused by what they're trying to do.

The apology is a start but it should have come from Edin and they should also be telling us what they are going to do to rectify their mistakes.
Edins silence just shows to me that he’s an arrogant man who can’t admit when he’s wrong.

It would be helpful if they let us know what it is that they have learnt from which mistakes they feel they have made. But there’s none of that.
With the comments about spending and earnings, I can already see it now....we are going to end up with a non-league German manager to manage our non-league German players on our swift and shambolic lunge into our very own non-league, at which point Rahic will appoint himself as player manager.

Another PR disaster.
Results speak for themselves, the disaster of the running of the club this season, with McCall revelations and Grayson disappearing to Scunthorpe (division dependent) tells you all you need to know. They will know of interest but still, no efforts to speak to him. Unbelievable.
The Twitter closure of personal accounts is a joke, how is that fan focused. What mistakes have been made would have been good to understand, to prevent those happening again... Do they accept liability, or is it more that McCall wasn't sacked quick enough e..g...
It's the complete lack of acceptance to see what is wrong, concerning. Deeply. No good pushing the youth along really, important but we can't compete with the likes of academies so unless we get one, pointless. Not when the first team is shite. All that crap Edin signed with no hope of ever making anyone's first XI still take up resources, wages, bonus payments (HA HA) NI, PAYE etc. He'd be quick to get rid of a lady in the ticket office but keep signing shite who contribute less to the club. Remarkable.
I like the Stockdale paradox for where we are now:
Confront the brutal truth.
It talks about the guys who were so hopeful they'd be out of the POW camp by Christmas, but when Christmas came and went, they were so depressed they didn't last. Whereas the guys who took a long term view, about survival and we have to get through this etc, survived. But you have to confront the truth of your situation..... Not hope the FA are dishing out bonus points for youth development this season.
Football is a short term business, if we get relegated, you can take another 3/4k off the gates. They don't renew because the youth team won the Lidl Youth Cup, beating Yorkshire Amateurs and Scarborough FC U23 on the way......

Exactly what lessons have you and Edin learned, Stefan? According to your interview, it appears to be business as usual
