I really struggle with this kind of head in the sand comment. Even Edin was honest enough to say that there is a straight read across from ST sales to the playing budget. If the value of ST sales drops by a third, then guess what? The bloody playing budget drops by a third. If the playing budget drops by a third, guess what? We can't even afford the size and quality of playing squad we currently have. Have I just missed something here or am I just expecting our supporters to understand something which is too complicated to follow? Can’t wait to see what 2/3rds of a domonic poleon looks like. Omari Patrick

If it is true about jct600 and Mitton pulling out plus the 5/600k season ticket loss we could be on quite a bad way by this time next year

Not all football fans are thick cunts. It’s probably the part timers who are more intelligent in that they see through bollocks - yeah, maybe a lot of people thought these owners would take us to the next level on and off the pitch.
Is that unfair to think when they talk about promotion, 3 year plans, the premier league, £1 tickets (lolololol), a productive development system and scouting network, improvements to the match day experience etc etc that they would actually back it up with their own money?
Instead we get signings that other fans are laughing at us for paying money for, German non-league shitbags, Omari Patrick and the addition of a ‘home made pie’ on match days.
But no, the Gompers will now be trotting out ‘we have to cut our cloth accordingly’ to try and justify not investing any money. Like the thick cut who said we shouldn’t spend money on players ‘in case they get a serious injury’.
Its the ones who aren’t returning who have probably assessed the situation in the least blinkered way.

In any company a Managing Director who loses 33% of his clients in 12 months would be sacked. Is it possible for Edin to sack himself? Or is the plan to get another 33% off the ST number by the end of next season. One thing is for sure. If this malaise continues with Edin at the helm we will vote with our feet too. ST renewed. But missing games now is not a concern as the heart has been stripped from the club.

Here's an idea. Once the price increases to £299 I think it's safe to assume that we wont be selling anymore season tickets, or if we do it won't be enough to make a difference, so why don't the club extend the cheap ticket deadline until the end of the season and promise that every single penny made from season tickets from now until the deadline goes into the playing budget? The club won't be losing out on anything financially as all the purchases will be additional and it will encourage some of those who haven't renewed to renew, thus increasing the player budget. It'll also increase Rahic's reputation . What's there to lose?

Right. I'm 50/50. If anyone can give me five reasons to renew my season ticket in 3 hours I'll do it. None of this 'thick and thin' and 'it's in the blood' bullshit. Real reasons why I should spend my Saturday afternoons at VP. Realise I'm 24 hours late here like.. but anyway Well else you gonna do on Saturday? Great excuse for a few bevvies beats been dragged around shopping centres by the misses. Get to see if your weather predictions come true Lets face it, the football is about 10% the reason most of us go to football.. if we really wanted to watch good football we'd go support Man City.

Apparently JCT600 are paying City £500k for the shirt sponsorship.. which is way down in comparison to other clubs in our league

Expecting sponsors to pay the going rate is fair game. But it’s relative. Expecting current sponsors to accept a massive hike is a dangerous game. And if you’re going to go in all guns blazing you need a plan B - or least a bit of leverage.
Commercial management is one area where the owners should actually have some acumen.

I agree that companies should be paying the going rate for sponsorship however if that going rate is over what the sponsor is willing to pay, then who is going to step in? Morrisons appear to have little interest, Provident Finance would be one I would be tapping up and apart from those what other businesses are there that would be large enough? Santander obviously have a large office in Bradford and M&S have their huge depot up by Euroway but I can't see either of those would be getting moist at the opportunity to sponsor Bradford, especially for anything north of £500k. JCT 600 have been involved in some way for decades and Mittons are Bradford based with my assumption that someone high up is a City fan but could be wrong.
Add into the mix that the audience has reduced by 33%, then trying to justify the price hike is going to be a hard sell...what are they actually getting in return that will benefit their business apart from the tax benefit?

From what I was told, Northampton get around £1.5m for their shirt deal over 3 years.. and in the past we haven't really tried expanding our range of shirt sponsors other than sponsors from the local area. The main reasons were that JCT600 have looked after us in the past.. and give us fleet cars at cost (big whoop) This is why they're expanding the commercial department and looking at new sponsors

How do a tinpot team like Northampton get 1.5M for Sponsership but a club with our fanbase as big as ours (in comparison to Northampton) get only 500k? It doesn't make much sense to me. Did Northampton just get lucky or is 1.5M the standard going rate for sponsorship in this division? If it is Rahic has every right to question the amount we're getting paid.

Doesn't matter one bit what the deal is at another club in our division, the only way you could ask JCT to up their payment is if your product was attractive enough to warrant a counter offer from another company. As has been said you are playing a dangerous game if you haven't got a back up offer.

YBS could be worth a shout. Maybe we should cast the net wider and look further afield if the likes of JCT won't play ball.

You are correct it is.. however if we've not gone out and tried to get a better deal and just accepted a local company then surely we should be going out and trying to get a better deal. Now more than ever due to the lack of uptake on season tickets. In relation to what Tahweed said, I'm not sure how Northampton's is so much more than ours, from what I heard it sounds like it was very much, well JCT have always been there for us so let's just keep them happy as well and get what we can without having to do too much for it.
