From reading that forum it sounds like Rochdale's business model is buying and developing young players to sell on for profit. Shit! Has anyone to Rahic. They've stolen his patented and foolproof model for success

it's also exactly what Exeter do. and Crewe obviously.
Exeter and Crewe are both in League 2. Exeter have made several million on sales in the past 3 years, and still haven't got promotion. Crewe are perennially bottom half.
Rochdale avoided relegation from league 1 on the last day of the season.
I can only see unrivalled success for City using the model.

The model is fine if it's used to create success and pile money back into creating a better squad. These other clubs do it to keep the wolves from the door, Rahic wants to do it to make him and his buddy rich

We never wanted him anyway. If he's signed for Notts County he mustn't have the mentality ro play in front of big crowds. We can do better. We must have someone better lined up then. Must mean Wykes staying. Too old. Give the chairmen a chance ffs. We haven't even signed who he's gonna sign and you're already writing them off. We are so fucking shit.

To be fair, the fact he’s only ended up at Notts County in League 2, might tell us something about how good he actually is...I never quite got the hype about him anyway.

Dennis was never a signing with Championship ambitions. Besides, this policy of paying 6 figure fees for L2 players has been pretty shit so far, Wyke excepted.
In fact I'd say most of our actual cash signings are shit. £150k on a 28 year old L2 striker would probably have followed that trend.

Kristian with a K is quite cosmopolitan. A little bit Belgian or French. Should have signed this one.

All the evidence is that he would have been shit, but we tried to sign him in Jan. The fact that he's not coming now means that either 1. We've accepted that he's not good enough, in which case why were we trying to sign him last time? Its an implicit admission that our first team transfer policy is bollocks, or 2. Something has changed at the club which means he doesn't want to play for us anymore. SM was obviously popular with players, so it could be that, or word could have got around that we're shit to work for, or it could be sumat else entirely. Either way, its gonna make it harder to sign players, or 3. We've been outbid by Notts County, which basically means we haven't got a pot to piss in.

We were a cock hair away from signing him in January so we must have been interested, i guess once another club was willing to put some money on the table we were fucked. Our transfer policy changes to suit the weather, they just make it up as they go along.

i heard it said that edin is gobsmacked managers, coaches and players are not willing to just lay down in front of him and swear allegiance to the bantams cause for nothing more than the love of the bantams.
I think this might cause us some trouble in the short, medium and long term.

I think this might cause us some trouble in the short, medium and long term. If managers, players or fans don't get behind Rahic and his plans and philosophy, then they aren't Bradford City fans, or so he said in that Dick 'n' Dom interview. You may have been supporting the club since childhood, followed them through thin and thinner, but you're not as much a City fan as Edin if you disagree with him. That's what anyone that comes into contact with the club is dealing with. I'm not surprised that people are being scared off, word will have got round that there's a world class arsehole running tings down at Valley Parade. Nobody wants to have to work with a cunt if they've got alternatives.

We were a cock hair away from signing him in January so we must have been interested, i guess once another club was willing to put some money on the table we were fucked. Our transfer policy changes to suit the weather, they just make it up as they go i think its 3, we werent prepared to pay that much for him. I believe we were willing to pay the 150k Mark for him in Jan when he was a L2 player and their top scorer who they needed to give them the best chance to avoid relegation and we needed him to help us push for promotion. No he's a conference player they basically know they have to sell and they aren't needing him to stave off relegation (and 6 months older to boot). They are more desperate to sell, we are less desperate to buy so we thought he was worth less. So the reason he didn't sign for us now is that we don't think his market value is the same as it was in January. Which is prob pretty accurate in principle. But fair play to chesterfield for sticking to their guns and getting their price for him. I think county have paid above market value, and weren't prepared to do that, but that's their prerogative.

Aside from being six months older, his market value hasn't changed. If we've gone back in with a low ball offer because Chesterfield have gone into the conference we've fundamentally misunderstood how markets work.
If we'd have got relegated next season, would that have changed Callum Guys value?
