LinkMcMahon (as we on TCA know) is a major factor in this slump. He wanted his move and wasn't prepared to wait for Mellor from Blackpool to come in so played shite (see Boxing Day) to try and force a move. Since then he's been sulking like a petulant child and stirring as much shit as possible to turn the players against the board. The players, as a result, no longer want to play for this club. McMahon should have been let go but, failing that, he needs paying up and sending on his way. Immediately. There's no way Rahic's pride will let him admit defeat like that. At least, not until all hope is lost and we're playing in the Horlicks Yorkshire and Teeside League division eight. Bolocks. I bet Rahic is laughing into his sleeve at this one. Why on earth should he give Mason more power and influence when he can carry on as he is, keeping the power and letting Mason take the shit?

The spirit of the article is spot on. I’d rather Mason have more influence than Rahic. But it probably needs more.
What a mess.

It's asking a lot of Mason to stop the rot even if Edin does take a back seat.
We're probably going to need an injection of cash to catch up to where we've come from which will have to come from the owners. That would demand them placing huge trust in JM.

Mason has more than played his part in the shocking PR we've seen this season. You only had to see the reaction to his 'rallying cry' to see how out of touch he is with fans. On what basis should he have more control at the club?

There is a large swathe of that article that looks like it could have been written by James Mason himself "Rahic is to take a step back. Accept the help of others. Allow them to take on more responsibility. Put people in charge who know what they’re doing. James Mason can be that man..."Definitely agree that Edin needs to take a step back, admit that he needs help from those with more experience and show some humility to the fans. This toxicity needs to be nipped in the bud now. Nobody is going to be impressed with Edin if he decides that the best course of action is to plough on regardless.

When Edin returns I'd hope there will be some kind of response to yesterday's debacle for the supporters. But there probably won't be. At the moment it seems the players don't care, the owners are out of their depth/no idea what to do, and grayson is stuck in the middle. Who's want to believe in something so fragmented and un-unified?

Surely Edin must be aware of the shocking records of some foreign owners at English football clubs and how they have turned up out of nowhere and essentially ruined football clubs. It can't be a fucking mystery to him that people dislike his overly-hands-on approach or are the very least suspicious of him.
Surely as well he must realise that he has no business, as a former finance man, to be actively scouting players or vetoing signing players who have been put in front of him by his actual pro scouting network and manager. It's either intensely naive or sick-makingly arrogant that he believes he has the scouting ability of a professional scout because he played in his teens and therefore it's going to be him who has the last word. What a fucking prick.
Finally, as a former finance man he must know that paying relatively high fees for young lower league players who have shown small bursts of promise but nothing more - is a shitter way to spend your budget than using the same money to source proven players - who tend to change hands for free - but that command higher wages based on their actual demonstrated contributions over a number of seasons. The end game has to be success doesn't it, so why not replicate how success has been achieved elsewhere? Why rip it up and start of down a road that nobody is comfortable with and has never actually worked.
The scariest thing, as I think we've all said in one way or another, is how much damage he will do before he comes to the realisation that he's out of his depth and has no idea how to run a football club properly. If he continues to arrogantly blame the fans for everything then he's going to end up ruining his dream in an empty stadium, losing every penny he's had in the meantime. WHAT A CUNT.
These points need putting to Edin if he's clueless as to why nobody likes him. Get Mason on it!!

Something that occurred to me earlier, your point about vetoing transfer remained me of it- Abbot and McCall have a combined total of over 70 years experience in football - McCall has worked up from the bottom to top level and World Cup international. Those people know football. They know English football, especially this level. One of our German owners has a bit of time on his CV scouting for a lower league German club and claims to ‘know football’. The signings he’s picked up himself or had recommended have not been anywhere near this standard of L1 never mind challenging for a league above. Players who Gompers excuse because they ‘try hard’ - fucking hell that’s a non-league ticket right there. And he has the fucking gall to veto transfer suggestions from McCall and Abott while bringing in this dross? Micro managing control freak.

Edin. Please sell up before you destroy more of the club than you have already. It has not worked.
