A time to amend or reaffirm your pre-season predictions. Also to serve as a quick reminder prior to the January transfer window.
Mine Pre-season: 10-12th Now: 10th
We're poor. Weak underbelly. Won't do enough in January. Mixed bag of results between now and the end of the season all adds up to a slide for me.

I think I said playoffs as minimum but January will be as interesting as it's ever been for us. I'll say between 6th and 8th. Depends how we strengthen and how other teams strengthen.

I'm predicting another disappointing trip to Wembley. I'm not going.

I predicted 1st and have seen plenty to make me change my mind. I'm going 2nd now.

I predicted mid table and think we'll finish about 8th. A fair few points short of the play offs.

I said mid table in the end after changing my mind a few times and I suspect that prediction won’t be that far out in the end!

I said 12th, I'm sticking with 12th. I also said our home form would turn to ratshit but even I didn't think it'd be this bad.
My next prediction: Wyke will leave for 2m. 1m will be reinvested, the 'windfall' we carried over from the summer will be forgotten about and the gompers will keep beating the drum about how much investment we've had cos it's another 1m on fees innit

Mason said it would cost £1m to make the pitch championship standard. If we got £2m for Wyke I think that would be a great investment.

Results wise, better than expected - no small part due to our freakishly fortunate moments in away games - early red cards, own goals, last minute penalties and goalie errors, smash and grabs etc.
We've had plenty of similar moments in home games - we had a glut of last gasp clearances that saved some of our wins at VP
Performance wise - not great. Ultimately the problem of needing 100 chances to score still remain, and it's been clear from the summer we try to play crossing game but have little quality and inventiveness in those areas. We never replaced Marshall and have bumbled about with an ineffective Gillead on one side and lost, useless Law on the other.
We've had probably 2-3 convincing performances out of 22 games - Bristol and home and Peterborough away. Most of the rest have been average or below that, but we've gotten away with a pivotal moment going in our favour.
Personnel wise - I struggle to see who in this side could play in the Championship with 1 or 2 exceptions, most would struggle to be wider said players.

He's not a shit player, but we use him in a shit way - e.g. Against Peterborough.

Do fans still really get upset about losing like we did on Boxing Day, ever since that 3-0 Accrington loss, losing like that seems normal. I’m numb to it, it’s expected almost, whether we’re having a good season or not.

They also identified a weakness and mercilessly attacked it, and I admire that. It's when we fuck up agaisnt shite like Wimbledon, Bury and Plymouth - and for the latter the drivel that came out of McCall's mouth about having to be patient etc (against the 24th place team who had travelled up 300 miles - we should have set out to crush them from the start, - and if you recall not fanny around being over cautious, going backwards and sideways at every opportunity).

When the Germans bought us, we were told that they had the wealth to take us on to that next level. Yet we still seem reliant on a player sale just to knock together a decent standard of pitch.

I don't think he's shit as such, I just don't see what others do in him. He's a great finisher and goal scorer but his all-round play isn't what others would have me believe. I think he's a little slow in both pace and movement and his hold up play, to me, doesn't seem anywhere near the level that I often see claimed for him. Having said all that the primary purpose of a forward is to score goals so as long as he keeps doing that I'm happy. Just don't expect me to jump on the adoration bandwagon anytime soon. The lad's good, but not that good.

We had to respect Plymouth as they have defenders who are good at heading.

In a way that made it worse because if I can't bring myself to get wound up about it then Ive basically stopped caring. I just don't fancy going to Oxford at home at all so probably won't.
