Seen this morning that Sir Billy Clarke is out for the rest of the season. It got me thinking about the players that left during the summer, the absolute tantrums that occurred upon their exit and how they are doing now.
Meredith - No idea really. Seems to play every week in the championship, good on him.
McArdle - Captain of those Scunthorpe wankers who are supposedly spunking cash everywhere and are still below us. Very limited football player made out to be some kind of messiah. I don't think there is anything about him that would suggest he would be a better bet than "NKP" or "Killa", so for me his exit is not the absolute travesty that it was made out to be. Would I want him to be top earner at our club for his hoofing? No.
Cullen - Doesn't seem to get much of a kick in the championship and from what I've seen the Bolton supporters think he's utterly shite. The one time that I saw him play this season on Sky he looked like he was struggling to keep up with the pace of the game. To be fair to him, Bolton are shocking so there's only so much you can do. Would be great to have at City but I wouldn't push the boat out for him personally, given that we have players that can do what he does (recycle the ball and not score).
Clarke - 2 goals in 20 appearances in all comps. Now injured and out for the rest of the season. I liked Billy for his tenacity or something, but on reflection he was always coming back from injury and always struggling to rediscover the form of another time when he was maybe a bit better...?
Marshall - Injured for most of the season, but has managed 1 goal in 9 with no assists. Would have been great to keep him, but again - making him the highest paid player in our league one history? Dodged a bullet there really given his injury. He's also 31.
Anyone else?

I miss super Billy He has had a barnstorming season to be fair. Charlton will miss his goals and assists, make no mistake.

McArdle I wasn't fussed about. Killa and KNP and no worse than him.
Clarke is talented but there's no real place for someone like him in League One - as our new 'number 10' Shay McWasteoffuckingmoney has found out.
I'd have Meredith, Cullen and Marshall back though. Marshall looks like he's the type of confidence player who thrives off the support (player and fans) at a certain club. Meredith is holding his own in the league above and Cullen is a victim of playing in a shite team who bypass midfield.
But agree, it's not the shit storm some had us believe when they all departed.

Whilst I agree with you that those three players seem to be better than what we have, statistically we are doing better without them. If I was some kind of dribbling wannabe American, I would possibly say something along the lines of "Go figure" or "who knew", but I'm not, so I won't.

I'd have Meredith back in a heartbeat. Easily superior to Chiksen.
Cullen would be great in our midfield but we'd still be looking for that elusive attacking centre mid even if we did sign him. As a business proposition though I think there's money to be made on him in a two or three years.
Marshall would be good to have back if for no other reason than our ridiculous shortage of left wingers and getting Nicky Fucking Law off that left wing.
McArdle is a good, no-nonsense lower-league defender and, as such, is easily replaceable.

Clarke....didnt give a fuck about him when he was here, care even less now he's gone. And truly bored of all his get well soon messages.
Marshall....miss him a lot and Charlton fans seem to dislike him
Mcardle.... I was gutted he left but watching re runs on you tube and take the rose tinted glasses off he was very limited but had a lot of heart
Cullen and Meredith.... I'd have both of them back tomorrow in heartbeat, we haven't replaced them with anywhere near the quality they had

I've not seen him many times but when he has played he looked really good. If he can keep on bombing up the left and scoring goals then the left back shirt is his, surely. No doubt Meredith is the better defender but given our dodgy formation and ponderousness we have room for someone with a goal and assist contribution from LB. Agree on Cullen, never gave the ball away and he made us tick a lot more than Reeves or Vincelot seem capable of. Class player. Vincelot is a pub player in comparison.

Robinson has the potential to be a very good winger and average league1/2 left back. His positional sense at lb is poor and relies purely on his pace to get him out of a hole. Much better going forward and dare I say he could play at the top end of championship with the right coaching

Not missing him either. He's got 7 in 21 games which isn't bad but it's not really an upgrade scoring-wise on the likes of Poleon in my opinion. The fact that we would have had to pay more money to retain his services this season than we paid for him last (as Fleetwood are doing), makes me satisfied with the club's decision to not re-sign him.

Millwall fans still say on twitter thanks to us for letting Meredith go, in between calling us a load of whining cunts, so they seem happy with him.
