The thought of a front 3 of Wyke, Poleon and Jones makes me moist.

That's a good result in all fairness.
The agonising thing is that however short we may look we're only two or three signings away from being a real powerhouse side. A quality centre back, a left winger and (if possible) an attacking centre mid and we'd be a quality side.
My only concern is that continuing to win papers over the cracks and might cause complacency in the transfer department. Our tyrannical gnome invests now and we could go places this year.

And a keeper. Doyle is shit. For me, while he's not absolute shit, he's one of those players that are, on balance, not difficult to improve upon. Having players of the ilk of him, McMahon, Law and Dieng in or around the first team demonstrates to me that we're either not quite ready or don't understand what it takes to build a promotion winning side. We can carry one or two but we've just got the odd one too many who simply don't belong in a promotion-chasing side. Two or three signings of quality in the right areas though...

I'm not getting carried away at the mo. Yes we've got 6 points but it needs putting into context. September looks like it could be a test for us, as we play most of the teams who've got off to a half decent start. If we are in the playoffs on the 1st October then I'll start to feel more confident.

We've scraped past 2 shite sides who'll both probably go down.
Much still to do. Blackburn will be a better test

I for one was impressed that we came away with 3 points. From all accounts the performance was far from polished but 3 points when not playing our best is something to be a bit positive about surely?!
