We all want him out but most decent managers are taken now so who do you realistically want?

Steve Evans. He'd walk here, and he's perfect for us.

Steve Evans. He'd walk here, and he's perfect for us. Not unless he’s half a mile or less away he wouldn’t.

Steve Evans. He'd drive here, and he's perfect for us. FTFY.
Also: agreed. Short-term he'd get us going, and wouldn't put up with the budget bullshit from the German leech. And the meltdown from the happy clappers would be joyous.

Steve Evans. He'd walk here, and he's perfect for us. I have this vision of zombified gompers forming a defensive perimeter around VP. Then as Evans approaches the some of them would surround his Range Rover like angry safari park monkeys

Not so sure Evans would do well here. Everywhere he's been when he's been expected to do well he's flopped.

Underdog managers do not do well here becuase we have the expectation to do well whereas at clubs like Stevenage their expectation is probably dont get relegated and anything else is a bonus.
For too long we've employed managers who got things to click at basket case clubs with no budget and nothing to work with and expect them to replicate it here. It. Doesn't. Work.
And too many managers who want to play miserable football. I know we aren't to win 6-0 every week but L2 shouldn't just be grinding out 1-0s constantly. What do we ask in interviews? 'What would your home approach be?' 'I love sitting back, not getting the crowd behind us, then if we do go ahead shut up shop...'
But then again I don't know what type of manager would do well for us.

Not so sure Evans would do well here. Everywhere here been when he's been expected to do well he's flopped. I'd be inclined to agree. Similar to managers like Adams or Flynn (even Parky to a point), they seem to suit small plucky clubs where expectations are low and they can foster an 'us vs the world' underdog mentality... getting away with shit but affective football utilising a small squad of shite but well marshalled players. The thing is it just doesn't translate when they 'step up' to big clubs with large expectant deluded fan bases and 'history'. Its almost like having access to more resources and the pressure of expectation upsets the balance which gave them success in the first place.

I honestly think Evans would revel in it here. He'd play the sort of intense, direct football fans want and after a few games, everyone will have forgotten about who he waves his cock at.
