No idea what to think to this
He is a different type of striker and that’s what we needed, he seems to have scored goals where he’s been but is he going to be Peter Thorne or Clayton Donaldson

A quality striker in his day, based on a game that relied on pace and movement.
He's 36.
Complete fucking waste.
Thorne was never rapid, so age was less of a factor.

I feel a bit sick
I saw his name and assumed he was joining the coaching staff.
Fuck me. This is the worst I've seen

The fact people (on Twitter) are happy with this signing makes me hate the fact I follow the same team as them. 🤮

We generally play one up top so either we signed this guy as third choice (in which case we’ve not really strengthened the squad) or is he’s now vying for a starting berth (in which case our current forwards must be considered fucking terrible by the club).
It’s a really odd signing with such a low chance of success I can’t understand why we bothered. Is this guy the best option we could come up with? If it is, fuck the new recruitment regime.

Six years ago this would have been a decent signing. I've gone for meh because atleast he's not a "never was, never will be"

“ Derbyshire spent four seasons alongside City manager Mark Hughes at Blackburn Rovers between 2004 and 2008”

“ Derbyshire spent four seasons alongside City manager Mark Hughes at Blackburn Rovers between 2004 and 2008” Ffs. Not just manager’s contacts but fourteen year old contacts. Classic City. If only we had a hierarchy strong enough to curb this regular lunacy.

It'd be a decent singing, if it was 2017.
I'd even be supportive if it was a deal to the end of the season, at least at some point in his career he was a decent player and you never know. But an 18-month deal? Fucks sakes.
Ronnie. Fucking. Brown.
