Honestly don’t know what to think this year. We’ve got a manager with about the best League Two pedigree going but our recruitment looks just wank.
If Adams gets us up I’ll be impressed and doff my cap but I’m not expecting it with this squad; it looks mid table to me. Over to you, Uncle Derek.

Lots of positivity around at the moment and fair fucks to Sparksy for that but where it actually matters on the pitch the squad doesn’t look like a promotion contending squad at all. We’re relying heavily on the Adams factor and the worry is that if we don’t get that then combine it with the shite football and we could end up in a bit of a mess.

This league is utter wank yet again, a bit of Adams magic should see us in the play offs but it will have to be some real magic with what we've brought in so far

Play offs. He managed to get Morecambe up so must have summat. A lot hinges on whether we have another striker lined up. Cook and Angol ain't gonna take us up.

Going up. Cook will score 20+.

Squad needs some goals to get into the play offs. Far too reliant on Cook and recruitment has been a bit bland. Missing out on the play offs unless a a striker or two come in.

Recruitment has been wank, the squad is no stronger than last season. So a similar finish. 13th.

Signings have been a mixed bag. Some fairly good ones (Songo'o, Eisa), some meh (Threlkeld, Gilliead) and some absolute shite ones (Kelleher, Angol). But having said that, I think most clubs have been the same. Other than McAleny to Salford, I've not really been jealous of anything else I've seen so far.
No doubt the football will be shit but it looks like Adams at least knows how to win whilst playing shite football. Should have enough for top 7. Get another striker of some pedigree and who can actually challenge Cook and we may have enough for top 3.
This league is dogshit. If the players are coached properly we can go up, even if they are largely poor.

We'll start off properly this time and be in and around the top 7 at Xmas instead of near the drop zone. From there we could get top 3.

Hard to judge season.
Everyone is Covid-poor this year, most were league 2-poor already. So there will be some shit this season.
We had a massive wage bill and have (presumably) cut that significantly now. Squad is a cheaper (worse?) Squad than we've had previous years. But Adam took Morecombe up with one of the lowest budgets. So it feels more like (dare I say it) an actual plan being executed.
Cheaper team will be needed, so find a manager who can work with that in this league and then cut, cut, cut.
We should be well placed. On paper we have a manager who can work with nothing, we should get money back quicker than other cos of the stadium size and season tickets. So we should be able to rise quicker once things ease up a bit.
We could well do auto's or even win this league this year.
But this is us, so probably more likely to finish 15th

We're fucking going up.
If O'Donnell is in goal, who doesn't like getting dirty then we're fucked.

Now based on a forward line including Angol, Lavery and Robinson? Nowhere near promotion.
If we don't go up and more than one of Sutton, Barrow and Harrogate - and let's add Forest Green in there as well - finish above us then then Rupp seriously needs to sell up and fuck off. New dugouts and art in the reception means nothing if we're going to end up losing to a side like Sutton.
We thought losing at Barrow and a Harroagte double last season was bad enough. I'm expecting more and more to lower the bar further with each passing game unless Adams somehow finds form amongst the utter dross that's been brought in up top.

Sutton have no chance of finishing above us, possible albeit unlikely though that Newport could be above us come Wednesday morning. Seventh behind six recent former non league clubs would be a sobering moment for a club aiming for promotion.
