Let this sink in. Morecambe won last night 3-0 against a Grimsby side we struggled to beat when down to 10 men. Morecambes team, which included Kelvin Mellor and Nathaniel Knight Percival, sit 1 point off the automatics. Not only do we ruin strikers we ruin defenders as well. And i wonder why i'm struggling to convince myself to get tickets for next season. Because there is a high possibility that Morecambe team will be in a higher division than us next season. Fuck my life.

Kelvin Mellor NKP Joe Riley Omari Patrick Danny Devine
All fucking garbage yet performing well at teams performing better than us. They've not suddenly become world beaters, they're just proof how dog shit this division is.

We're gonna be stuck in the khazi league for years aren't we? Meanwhile 10 miles east everyones haing a massive wankathon. You can tell i'm sick of watching dogshit football with players who have the brass neck to call themselves professionals.

Coaching has to be a big part, surely.
There must be environmental factors too. What is it about this place this make us shit? Do players wilt under the pressure?

NKP and Mellor looked horrendous for us and i know there will be mitigating circumstances. But we were cheering these players out of the doors of VP and yet they now have a real chance of playing in league 1 next season. I can just see the same scenario next season, we let the likes of Rowe and Watt leave and they end in a promotion chasing team.

I disagree, I think we can get out of the khazi league and quite easily, whether we will or not is another matter. This league is shite and looking like it’s going to be even weaker next year so a few shrewd moves and a bit of tactical and recruitment nous and it’s easily achievable. Fuck me, we almost did it by accident this season.
Moving on from there I’d have my doubts. There’s too many teams that are better run than us in League One so I’d think only a regime change would move us on from there.

This is the very reason we will struggle to get out of the khazi league, because of how traditionally we have been run. I have to admit i don't think it will through lack of effort from Sparks, only yesterday he apparently said Trueman had changed his view on Tuesdays game after watching the rerun the day after. Wonder who told him to watch that and why? My concern though is others around him, i'm not sure Trueman et al is the answer.

Sorry, I meant to quote the first sentence of your second post and fucked it up. We don’t have to be down here years and if we are it’s all on us because it’s certainly not the cut throat nature and relentless high quality of the opposition that’s keeping us down here. Sparks has plenty of energy but the spectre of Rhodes hangs over him. If he can shake Jnr’s feckless influence we’ve got half a chance. If not then we are stuck down here for years. He needs to be his own man and succeed or fail on his own terms.

Talk is cheap, actually getting the quality you need off and on the field costs money. Is Rupp going to sanction this? I actually have some faith in Sparks because his whole ambition of getting to where the likes of Mason currently depends entirely on his decision making. And with us only having the two new lads in charge its a bit easier to lay them off than someone like Neil Warnock. The last dozen games has shown the lack of experience in the new managers, i wouldn't expect any experienced manager worth his salt to have played Clarke or Evans on Saturday or stuck with them that long. Saying that we can thank the massively experienced McCall for bringing Evans to the club. Even already they have no idea how to handle Danny Rowe and yet apparently they had input in his signing. I now admit my short term enthusiasm was built around results rather than performances and i realised over the last 8 to 10 games that promotion was a bridge to far. Not strengthening the central midfield when it was a priority has effectively given us another season in league 2.

Sparks seems ambitious, he knows one thing we don't ruin is CEOs- look at Shaun Harvey and Baldwin.
The problems are long standing: we train on a school playing field that's underwater for three months of the year, we still don't have the coaching and scouting networks we need, etc etc.
Sparks next big project has to be to get the ground back off Gibb and get us a proper training ground. I don't want to scrape out of this league for a relegation fight, I want us to go up waving our cocks and go straight up again, like Coventry.
