T&S tried to do a Bowyer.... well these two need a kick up the arse, if not there can fuck off now.

Defensively we're a good side but going forwards its very bowyer-esque. Last three games we've created fuck all. That's the thing - we've got a few players who can actually fucking finish, it's making something for them we stink at. And corners, again... surely someone else, anyone else takes one even just slightly better than Watt does?

They've looked shagged out for the last few games, so it's been coming. They had to switch it a bit but it shows up what we've been saying, that there's no strength in depth. Sutton's needed dropping/booting up the arse for a few weeks but there's nobody to drop him for. Can't disagree with the team put out given the circumstances, but goes to show there's piss all cover.
Ah well, I'd take a half decent first team but no cover over what we had at the start of the year.

We missed Cooke tonight. Not just for his ability to do something with the possession for our forwards but our set pieces are wank without him. Surely one of our players can take a better corner than Watt.

We. Are. Going. Up!
These results happen every season to every team, we’ll be alright this season...promise you!

They do happen but we've got used to being so effective under t&S and things being done right it's a shock to the system and leaving yourself with just Donaldson upfront at the end of a game shows they got this wrong. But hopefully they fix this blip and we go all out to punish Carlisle.

We weren’t great but Newport and the ref were worse and we’ve only got ourselves to blame for fucking that up by not doing more to make it safe at 1-0 and then by Sutton having an absolute brainfart. Very very frustrating.

I think the manner of the defeat and other results going against might be the kick up the arse we've needed. We've played worse and ground out results... probably been quite fortunate with some decisions before today. The fearless attacking performances have become a more safe and predictable. Perhaps even a bit sloppy. We just need to keep doing what we're capable of doing, cut out silly mistakes and we'll win more than we lose.

We're clearly well drilled in our defensive shape but we seem to make it up as we go along when we attack. I don't really see any patterns of play or even an over reliance on one player doing something. I don't want to keep bringing up that cunt bowyer but there's only so far you can go without making chances of your own and relying on an opposition gift or worldie strike.

TBF it sort of worked against Orient and Mansfield, so i can see the reasoning.

Very very frustrating. We saw plenty of the ball, we just didn’t do enough with it. They constantly gave up possession and let us have plenty of attack but we were too ineffective with our attacking play. Rowe sits way too deep for me so when Crankshaw did fashion a cross we only really had Cook in there and their keeper beat him to the vast majority of the crosses. Without Cooke very little went through the middle so we offered next to nothing of any note in the final third. Billy Clarke did what Billy Clarke does when played on the right - nothing. I’m no fan of his anywhere but at least he has a chance of influencing the game on the left. On the right we start with ten men.

Gotta disagree, I don't like Clarke at all he's massively overrated, in his first spell he was ok not brilliant just ok. He's been shite ever since, 2 good halves this season I think and 0 in his 2nd spell. I don't know how people can't see his dog food made legs have gone and he offers zero to us. Sad thing is he will probably get a new contract due to him always being every managers and CEOs mate

The team has improved enormously since January, but scratch beneath the surface and squad is still weak. Rumarn and Foulds haven’t played more than a few minutes, the money spent on them, an option for Sutton and Watt would have better. Vernam should have had the whole night off last night and not had to come on.

The best CM we can find, a quality wide player (probably loan) as Cranky and Vernam are clearly still works in progress, and another striker - assuming Donaldson retires and we don't keep both Cook and Novak. I'd still like to see some pace up top.

Clarke is shit but even then he’s got to be given the best chance of performing and we don’t do that by playing him on the right of a three. If it were up to me we wouldn’t play him at all though.

Instead of the annual, brainless, hit and hope rebuild we’ve only got some targeted tinkering to do to build a very good side in a dogshit division.
