3 points and largely outplayed them. Played some good stuff especially down the flanks but my god we're atrocious in front of goal. Should have been an absolute rout against what I consider to be the worst club in the football league. Sutton by far the best player today with Clarke having a good 2nd half but cries of man of the match made by people who forgot how anonymous he was in the first half. Cooke needs to up the ante now or he's going to find himself out in the cold, lad has so much potential but seems to be in his shell at the moment. If we can get another cb and another striker who can actually run and shoot we could be a good team but Guthrie has to be kicked out now. There's much tougher games to come than what we've played and the Bolton result has been proven to be nothing special, time for Stuart to push this team on...if He's good enough to do it. Clarke has played well most games this season. His tackle at the end was a beauty. Sutton put down a marker straight away, McCall will have him in most weeks. Young French had a good game too, another assist to his name.

Clarke's playing well behind a front two, the issue is mostly the shite forward line. Novak is limited but he will take chances, he needs someone with a bit of something along side him. Instead he has Kurtis fucking Guthrie.

French is looking like a very capable player, comfortable on the ball, good going forward and solid at the back, like him.

I'd disagree Clarke has played well in most games, didn't see the Colchester game but he's played 1 decent half against Bolton 1 good half today. The other halves of football he's played in he's been anonymous. I don't rate him but I'll give him credit whenever he's due it.

Guthrie can’t start next week after that. Normally the most I expect from him is some headers, tackling and running about. Today he didn’t even manage that. Cooke wasn’t himself either. Watt good again. We’re decent in the midfield.
Just goes to show how poor we are defensively today. Completely on top. First decent cross they manage and we’ve got three defenders bumbling about unable to clear it.
Not feeling the French love in either. He’s got the positional awareness of an over excited chihuahua. He’s shown that in every game so far. Yea, he’s pitched in up top but defensively poor. At the end of the game today - we’re hanging on against Stevenage and he pops up on the opposite flank to give away a silly foul. He’s going to cost us plenty of goals.
Novak the hero once again. I’ve no idea how he’s scoring. Limited supply on top of him being a bit shit. A strike partner who could stretch teams with pace would be ideal. So would an actual RB. But we’ve been saying this for ages and every day that goes by it seems more and more unlikely.
Saving cash for inevitable mandatory weekly testing? Who knows. That kind of future planning seems unlikely.

French looks to be getting more comfortable with first team football at this level to me. Definitely worth persevering with to see if a bit more experience might make a player of him. He’s got promise but it depends how far he kicks on. On balance I’d pick him

It's a good time to blood the young lads with no crowd pressure.

Novak is a weird one, he'll play shit but he'll pop up with a goal, 5 in 10 now, just needs a quick partner and there's something there

He’s constantly out of position. He’s not some 17 year old kid, he’s 21. If he doesn’t know where he should be on the pitch by now he never will. He’s only playing as a wing back because he’s the only defender who’s got legs to get up and down the pitch. We still need a proper RB.
