It beats 'what did you have for your tea'? Hunters chicken, slow cooker. The chicken was a little dry in all honesty. Substituted streaky bacon for medalions and it just wasn't the same. Nice though. Hunters’ chicken? I mean who goes hunting for chicken with some bacon, cheese and BBQ sauce? You don’t see Bear Grylls or Ray Mears cooking that shite do you?

Grilled minced beef pate garnished with fresh salad and mustard puree placed between a sliced oven baked bun, further garnished with sesame seeds. A side of Batonette cut 'french style' deep fried potato sticks seasoned with a pinch of salt. Complemented with a choice of dips Washed down with a unique carbonated beverage, flavoured using the exotic 'kola nut'. Said to have medicinal qualities
i'm lovin' it

Slow cooker job, third night in a row. Love it. Chicken curry last night with rice and a gammon joint tonight with roasties and veg. Heads up for tomorrow, another slow cooker creation. Not done it before so we'll see how it goes. Pork loin steaks stacked in pairs. I'm going to put a layer of stuffing between the steaks then wrap them in foil and sit them on a bed of sliced potato generously covered in the lazy crushed garlic from a jar.

Gammon joint cooked in coca cola - or cherry coke - its the only way to go.

Heard the cola method is good but never tried it. Next time maybe.

Wife likes the Coke method. I'm not keen. Gives a sweet edge to it. Like sticking a pineapple in it which, as everyone knows, is wrong.

Heard the cola method is good but never tried it. Next time maybe. Cooking it in Coke is for Remainers. Cook it in ale, Hooch. I know you don’t like ale but trust me, it works. Just make sure you get a reasonably dark one; Hobgoblin or Landlord - no pales or blondes. Works wonders for the Christmas turkey too.

Not tried the ale approach but I’ll have to give it a go. Was sceptical about the coke recipe until I tried it, but it’s immense. Boil it in coke, lather some honey on and then roast for 20 mins. Bingo.
