What are your overall thoughts on the transfer window? In short it looks like we've brought in 2 first teamers and 3 bench warmers.
Not surprisingly the team does look better when you take out Chicksen and add in a quality midfielder but is it enough? I wouldn't say the window has been a disaster but I still think we're a player or 2 short. A decent CB and Striker and we'd have been set.

Reasonable. Not sure reasonable is enough.

I think the signing of the month will turn out to be Calum Woods. Not least because if he keeps Chicksen out then his acquisition will be the biggest piece of team strengthening we pulled off all month.

Yeah, its reasonable window, considering our financial circumstances. All the 'outs' make sense - would've been good to add Wright/Riley to the list but no one else is going to be stupid enough to pay them what we do.
Butterfield and Woods make sense. And I'm in the minority, but I'm ok with Clarke coming back - but we should've added a proper number 9 as well. Anderson - no idea. But its a short term deal that probably isn't costing much. POC - still baffled by that one.
Our failure to add a proper centre back, and a decent striker could be the final nail. Pretty shocking to have not dealt with those gaps. The centre back especially - good strikers cost money, even on loan. But how hard can it be to find a solid League 1 centre back?

Hopefully we'll make a move for free agent Turner from Burton.

Hopefully we'll make a move for free agent Turner from Burton. Agreed and I’ve put that in the Rumours thread. He’s far and away better than anything we’ve got in there. A bit of quality like that would make me confident we’ll avoid the drop.

Why did Burton let him go? Football reasons or something else?

There’s a rumour doing the rounds that Woods is crocked already. I’m not sure how reliable it is but it might be worth holding off pinning our hopes on him just yet. Suppose we’ll find out tomorrow if it’s back to Chickshite

Transfer window hints that we're gonna be playing a similar style to December when we looked good. Hopkins history says we'll be dinosauring the fuck out of the rest of the season.
No way if telling if the wi Dow was good or not until we see what Hopkins gonna do.

Very interesting quote from Hopkin in his pre match press conference.
When asked if he was pleased with the window he said "with the players we've let go and the players we've managed to get in on loan and permanent deals I don't think it's cost the club any money, so from that perspective I've managed to work wonders with Julian".
Whether we've done enough remains to be seen but Hopkin has done well to strengthen the team without having a penny to spend .

We’ve brought in some random ex posh lad who’s barely got any munutes, the midfield version of scannel, a slightly worse number 10 than we used to have 2 seasons ago despite being covered in that position and a young CB on loan who was so poor he got subbed at half time. We also let go the still not brilliant but more experienced and generally better McGowan.
So great, it cost us nothing. But how much will relegation cost? I don’t think we’re markedly better off, slightly worse I’d say.

I'm struggling to make sense of some of the recruitment and it doesn't seem to fit with what Hopkin has said previously about wanting different options from the bench. It's more of the same for me. And Billy Clarke? As much as I liked him when he was here previously, I really can't make any sense of it. That's why I've gone for Ronnie!
