He's pretty decent apparently, the Leeds (sorry, L**ds) fans who work with me are surprised that he's going out on loan again.

File it under the Lewis O'Brien category.. know nothing about him so won't judge until he plays.

I don't think he'll start, I think it would be very rough on our current centre backs if one of them was dropped for him. Enjoyed Phil Hay's dig at us, but he's an Isherwood replacement for me.

well if we need plan to play 3 CB's then we do need more than 3 on the books (unless we wanna give chicken another go there like we did last time people were out).
Rather a loan than a perm. Given our situation. Much less risky

This is the type of signing that suggests he's happy with our current crop of Centre Backs. That's not to say he's not any good but it's not a Caddis type signing where he walks straight into the team. I hope our recent form doesn't result in complacency because in truth we're a couple of injuries away from looking very very average again.
We need proven quality through the door.

Is that a typo or is his name really Paudie?

You're only allowed 5 loan players in your matchday squad.
Miller, LOB and Ball are always going to get in. Payne - or his replacement - would also be shoe-ins. And with Kai going, we'll surely add a striker on loan too.
So I reckon we'll take on Ball's contract. But it likely means that any other signings would be permanent. Unless we take on Miller too...?

Two O’Connors? Commentator’s nightmare.
Know nothing about him, good luck to him.

Forgive me for not getting a hard on over this cunt but I don't really get it. A loan from leeds for what will most likely be our 4th choice central defender hardly screams "we're prepared".
And what happened to Hopkin saying he was looking at players who we could sign up longer term and on permanent deals? Maybe it's just me because I hate pointless loans like these but we need better than this if we want to stay up.

Leaving aside the lad’s ability it’s an odd use of a loan even allowing for the fact that Payne’s away. If we made Ball permanent it’d start to make more sense.

With all the scroungers being cut off you'd think we'd sign a first teamer, nevermind another lad to warm the bench
Thought we were prepared
