3 games in and still no Paudie,McCartan, or Reeves. Apart from Reeves has there been a reason why we we've not seen them?

No Ismail either, presume they all have small injuries.

Paudie’s coming back late due to his involvement with the African Cup of Nations.

This made me laugh more than it should have. Racist. I know, deeply troubled by this new realisation.

McCartan is odd as they actually had a photo of his shirt hung up in the dressing room before yesterdays game.. On the move perhaps? Paudie, who knows but if he has even a small niggle then it's not worth risking him

Yesterday was another team of triallists, and not very inspiring ones at that. From the Width of a Post -
'At Eccleshill, only Shaun Brisley – formerly of Notts County, Macclesfield and Peterborough – had anything approaching experience. The rest were mainly young players released by other clubs, including a couple who have been playing in non-league. Josh Ezewele, for example, signed for AFC Fylde in 2017, played just eight times and ended up being loaned out to Evo Stik Premier Division side Redditch United. He was released last summer and there is no record of him playing for anyone over 2018/19. Why we are looking at someone like this? It’s hard to see what role most of these trialists could seriously play in Bowyer’s plans.'
After the lord mayors show? Sounds a bit like summer 2018 for me - 2 friendlies now that have just trialist games, what do we expect to learn from these?

I'm all for finding another French but these players don't get released. It's a waste of our time and we could be giving our own youngsters more playing time.

And for all the abuse Radish and Collins got for last season's terrible pre season we're 2 weeks away from the Cambridge game and only Anthony O'Connor has played more than 45 mins in a game. It's a tad worrying that we have 2 proper pre season games and we have 20 odd players that haven't played more than 45 mins

I don't think there's any need to worry. Players have stated in interviews that they feel fitter this pre-season than last pre-season. GB is putting them through double sessions at Apperley Bridge so fitness won't be an issue. We still have Wigan and Rochdale to play before the season starts which i think will feature the XI Bowyer will be looking to play against Cambridge.

Bowyer has been very cautious with the possibility of picking up needless injuries in games that ultimately mean very little. Ben Rome will get the players in shape and they'll get a run around against better opposition such as Wigan and Rochdale. Nothing to be concerned about- It doesn't even remotely compare to the pre season shambles we witnessed last season.

I can only think that the Eccy and Brighouse games have been about doing favours for non-league scouts and clubs to build bridges and find proper talent. Its maybe useful to look at players let go by U23 sides in the premiership, but are they really going to shine in games like that...?

If that's the only chances they get then they have to if they want it.

I agree with you on this, but I still reckon we're already ahead of last season's total clusterfuck of a pre-season.

Don't get me wrong I've more belief in GB knowing what he's doing rather than Collins, I just find it quite odd
