From the outset of appointing an U18 coach with an appalling record and taking six weeks to make the decision the writing was on the wall. Add to that we paired the Zumba teacher with a failed non league coach and a guy so out of touch with the game and it’s easy to see why we are where we are without even starting with the spineless players. The fact that the Bantam Pete’s of this world defended any of this shitshow is a sign of another fundamental flaw at this club.
The players started poorly and went on to get worse as the season went along. Some of this is down to basic ability but in my view the major problem with the lot of them is character. I have never seen such a spineless bunch of individuals in all my time watching football. The stat that we have managed only one point all season when going behind is mind boggling and perfectly sums them up. Make no mistake, if we start next season with the majority of this poorly assembled squad then we will be in a relegation battle. It does not matter which division you are in, if you do not at the very least apply some effort, tackle and have the ability to hold a basic shape, then you will be in trouble.
Rupp needs to take more of the blame than is currently being pinned on him...you can’t be asleep at the wheel to then turn around and say it’s your passengers fault for letting you nod off. He is as culpable as Rahic for me, he should have been more involved or not have got involved at all. Yes, he is propping is up now but he’s actually propping himself up, he’s trying to clear up his own mess but in my view the January transfer window tells us all about how much effort he is putting in.
Overall a shambles of a season from start to finish and all very very predictable.

My season review.
A lunatic went on the sort of spending spree I’d have my missus assassinated for. We appointed a PE teacher. Pre season was shit. The real season has been like enduring a 9 month bout of genital herpes.
The End. Literally.

Rupp definitely deserves more stick but even the antongomper mentality on here couldn’t be fucked to do any kind of protest or fly over - which would have definitely got his attention. Sleepwalking into non league. Until I’ve witnessed some good recruitment I’m convinced next season will be the same.

The only think I've changed my opinion on recently is Hopkin. I originally thought he wasn't getting enough out of the players and that his tactics were killing us. Having seen us play under Bowyer who's the complete opposite to Hopkin (arm around the shoulder approach, passing style of football) it's clear that it made not a blind bit of difference. All the damage was sadly done in pre season.

As much as the rahic shit was going on, the players have let us down more than anybody as there was still ample time to turn things around. They've had a big shouty bastard manager and a nicey nice one and nothings changed, which leads me to believe they should take most of the blame. Never hated a city team as much in my life

All the damage was sadly done in pre season. Supported by a shocking January transfer window. So much hope was pinned on it as being our last chance, and every player we brought in was out of favour, had a history of being injury prone or were nowhere near match fitness. And you wanted them to come to help fight a relegation battle. In both windows though we signed too many players on their way down, and none on their way up. The collective and consecutive number of relegations some of these players have speak volumes.

The collective and consecutive number of delegations some of these players have speak volumes. As bizzare as it was, I've decided the January transfer window made no difference. We had too much to do. The general consensus was that we needed a Left Back, Centre Back, Winger and a target man. We've seen most of those positions filled recently with the introductions of Paudie O Connor, Callum Woods and Scannel. We're still rubbish. Truth is we needed an entire squad.

Edin is no doubt the cause of this disaster, and is a massive cunt, but we've been Edin free for a good while now and the players have still proved to be gutless sacks of shit. He brought them in but they have not even attempted to prove they're worthy of being called professional footballers.

There was reasonable individual quality and experience in this squad for us not have finished bottom, 10 points off safety. It's not like we had to throw in lots of youngsters or got brutally hammered with injuries. Yesterday may have been a dead fixture but you still saw the same issues all the squad have been collectively useless at - basic organisation without the ball, basic ball control, overplaying when going forward, shooting, corners... I spoke to a guy behind us and said after 46 league games the defensive problems that have cost so many goals are obvious and never really addressed, but you still can't work out what sort of game we try to play when we cross the halfway line. I mean, for one example Doyle takes some deserved shit but what have we actually done to compliment him? He has something like one of the top strike ratios over his years in L1 - and in poor sides - trust us to fuck that up.

I think before young michael was made manager and alarm bells started ringing a mid table finish with this lot would have been viewed as disappointing. Especially given the fanfare about some of them. The thing with doyle now is we've had two strikers, just him, booted it long to him and more recently played in to feet and he's offered nothing to show what his strengths might actually be. Granted its not been ideal but if hes that good he'd have showed more than he has. Take away penalties from his goal tally and that says it all for me
