I fucking hate that. What a tawdry, disrespectful and dehumanising way to refer to the victims of the fire. They used to be remembered with quiet dignity, now they’re reduced to a catchphrase on a ronker’s hoody. What next, disaster mousemats and year planners? I could use a few dozen ‘56 fire’ biros as conversation starters. I can get all indignant too if the people I hand them to don’t remember ‘the 56’ as well, often or as much as I do. Another thing that gets right on my tits is this contest in grief recognition between the Valley Parade fire and Hillsborough. This idea that our coverage not matching theirs is an injustice is pretty fucking vulgar. It’s like everyone wants to be the centre of attention and the fire is just a once a year opportunity to get them the attention they crave. If people really want to ‘remember the 56’ there’s absolutely no need to advertise it on hoodies, avatars or in demands for recognition or attention. Attend the last home game of the season, visit the memorial, make a private donation to the Burn’s Unit or make one in at the annual service of remembrance. There’s no need whatsoever to cheapen the whole tragedy with gaudy, self-serving public displays of egocentric twatishness. Dip your head, shut your mouth and show some respect.

Remember when it was simply 'all those affected by the tragic events' instead of branding those who sadly perished?
Those who lost loved ones, were injured, affected, witnessed things nobody should have to all should be in our thoughts and prayers but sadly that shit doesn't fit on a hoodie.
Even the official account are remembering 'the 56'.

Alex Jones has put a tweet out thanking everyone around the club for helping and supporting doing his two and a half years, saying what an honour it was to play for us and wishing everyone the best for the future. But he hasn’t remembered to remember ‘the 56’. What a cunt.

Saw those hoodies today, another 'ooh look at me, look at me' statement. Just like the fans berating others for not turning up to the last game and 'disrespecting the dead'. Absolute cunts.

This is why TCA is disliked by #bantamsfamily members- no one on it really cares about history, it’s disrespectful and dismisses real fans as Uber gomping grief tourist wankers.
Long may it continue.
