Roger Tart 'What fucking monkey? The not losing monkey? Fucking glad that's gone. Nothing helps your season kick start than losing the not losing habit.' I knew it was coming. Said to my fat brother as we got in the car that the first person to mention the "monkey" was getting it. That has to go down as one of the most stupid things I've ever read on there.

The only - and I mean only - positive of a sort you can take is that we might we more prepared to go for it in other home games if they're fizzling out as we won't be so determined to keep the record going - a fair observation from last season. Chairmen said they would much rather go down 5-4 than sitting on 0-0s or something didn't they? Well we've no record to protect anymore.

Ratings time
Doyle: 5 Poor kicking (under instructions). Misses obvious passes out fromm goal. Doesn't inspire confidence.
McMahon: 3 Appalling. Gave it away time and again. Caught out of position. Skinned. Booked. Fuck off, mate. Field: 5 Quiet game. Made littel impression either way. Killgallon: 5.5 Looked shaky early on but got a little better as the game wore on. Could and should have prevented the cross for their goal. NKP: 5.5 Middling. One good ranging pass out from the back, other than that, meh.
Reeves: 5 Busy but ineffective. Tried I suppose. Dieng: 5 Started really well but had faded back to his old nothingness by the second half. Needs to keep at it or he's regressing to last year. Law: 4 Wanders around being shite then bollocks others. Get your own house in order before you start telling everyone else where they're going wrong, you cunt. McCartan: 4 Starting to worry me. The best piece of play he did all game he ruined with a ridiculous dive for which he was rightly booked. Needs to up his game.
Poleon: 5.5 Largely anonymous. Nothing really to report. Patrick: 5.5 Odd mazy dribble but close control poor today. Too many heavy touches. Looks too eager.
Subs in order of performance: Taylor, Jones, Wyke.
On McCall: I realise he has little room for maneuver when it comes to the defence and that he's been left without wingers and little attacking threat in centre mid but some of the problems today were of his own making. Listening to his post match interview annoyed the fuck out of me. Firstly this stupid idea that two left footed centre backs means you've got to 'kick it'. What the fuck?! Because both the centre backs predominantly favour the same foot the answer is hoof? Not wearing it.
Secondly this harebrained scheme to take goal kicks to McMahon. Doyle was pissing me right off aiming for little Tony's head time after time and watching it fail only to find out from McCall that it was his deliberate tactic. Apparently in the absence of Wyke he consider McMahon to be our physical presence! I'd sooner try for Poleon's head or even Patrick's before expecting a shit dwarf to win the headers. We could even have rolled it out to our defence a few times in preference to that idiotic tactic. It continually failed and we kept doing it. FFFFFFFuck!
McCartan/McMahon on dead balls. For some reason we reverted to Tony taking the set pieces today and we got predictable results. McMahon is a fucking liability where possession is concerned so what do we do? We give hime the responsibility of taking all our set pieces. I remember one half decent corner and one decent free kick - the rest came straight back at us.
Subs: waited far too long to make a change. He discussed it and discussed it with Kenny Black but nothing came. We wasted too much time overthinking things while nothing was working out on the pitch. Credit to him when it did come though as he didn't fuck about and went for a treble sub. We looked better after it and it was the right thing to do at the time, it just took too long to recognise that what we had out on the pitch wasn't working.
All in all, a shitty spectacle but at least we've got that non-losing run monkey off our backs and Blackburn will win the league by a thousand points anyway so no shame cunt, cunt, twat, fuck, shitface - fuck this I'm having a beer.

You have to be a massive cunt to gomp a tweet like this - 'Blackburn top 2 this season easy enough, no shame in losing to them #brfc #bcafc' Blackburn haven't been all that. A long way short of Sheff Utd quality. I wasn't impressed with Blackburn. To me it looked like two poor teams trying to grind out any kind of result. I thought they were particularly poor up front.

Also the first handball penalty claim for us was blatant. Nailed on penalty. I didn't see the second too well but that looked a fair shout.

Second one was more iffy as it was hit at him quite hard. Not sure he could get out of the way of it. Shouldn't have happened though as the first should've been a penalty

In fact, the more I think about it, the worse McCall's interview was. 'Not thinking we deserved to lose' is mealy-mouthed. We certainly didn't deserve to win and we'd have been fortunate to draw so we got exactly what we deserved for me.
McCall needs to stop hanging his hat on McMahon and Law because they're going to drag him down. Unfortunately, Tony has the position sown up because, besides Hanson, he's all we've got.

We're a team full of shit wannabe number 10s or slow defenders there's no midfield no width and no cohesion. Blackpool and Gillingham are going down this year and Blackburn were just as bad as us apparantly, I'm dreading a confident team turning up we will take a reet kicking

Blackpool and Gillingham are going down this year and Blackburn were just as bad as us apparantly, I'm dreading a confident team turning up we will take a reet kicking I really doubt the merits of having an 'in the hole' player at this level. When we sold Clarke I was hoping that we were going to out and out strikers but we signed McCartan. OK he looked promising but I'm coming more and more round to the idea that playing a man in that position at all over complicates the game at a level where it's best kept simple. We've compounded this by neglecting the wing positions leaving us relying on the rarely-effective diamond formation. It's striking to me that after such a big overhaul and spending a good amount for this league we're still a good way away from being a well-equipped side. We need a left winger so badly it's a joke. We need a centre mid that can walk into our first eleven lessening the reliance on Dieng and Law and we need at least two defenders, preferably three (a left back*, right back and centre back). We've fucked up our transfer business this year but it's fixable. Unless Wells moves though it won't be getting fixed anytime soon. *depending an how Field turns out. If he's any good two centre backs please.

I can see McCall getting a few friendly pointers from Edin after that display. Should be productive.

This result may be a blessing in disguise. Edin might realise our squad is shit and go out and get a couple of decent players, although given how long it's taking for us to bring in a CB I wouldn't hold my breath.

Also, Fordy has a point about McMahon, he's shit. He lacks a footballing brain and constantly gives the ball away.

Also, Fordy has a point about McMahon, he's shit. He lacks a footballing brain and constantly gives the ball away. I've been saying this for ages. He has worse positional sense than some of the alcoholics I see staggering around West Bowling at 8am with a can of Kestrel Super in their hand. He's fucking shite but the gomper excuse of choice is that he's a wind-up merchant, a niggly little cunt and we 'need someone like that'. No we don't, we need someone who can play football better than that little shit.

Can anybody get McCall's Radio Leeds post match interview? I can't find it anywhere and I really want to listen again.

Can anybody get McCall's Radio Leeds post match interview? I can't find it anywhere and I really want to listen again. You really don't, we knocked all the dead balls to McMahon because we had two left footed centre backs playing. I think it's time for Stuart to leave.

If he's using 2 left footers as an argument at centre half he's lost it.

If he's using 2 left footers as an argument at centre half he's lost it. He did I'm afraid. At least that's how it sounded to me which is why I'd like to hear it again. If we're saying we need to go hoof because we have two left-footed centre halves then surely only one of them needs to hoof. Surely the left-sided left-footer is on his natural side and can play his normal game. To be honest the whole interview had undertones of a complaint about recruitment and sales. He bemoaned the lack of Billy Clarke and talked a lot about how potential only gets you so far. This whole result and performance feels like a Sheff Utd argument brewing all over again.
