McCall on defender search: "everyone at the club is trying their best but sometimes you're waiting on a decision from somewhere else" McCall says he'd "like to think" he'd get someone in before Saturday but admits "I don't really know to be honest"
What. The. Fuck. Have we been doing all summer? Yes, I know you can't account for injuries and red cards in the first 2 games - but you get in this mess for dicking around when you really shouldn't have.

Manager doesn't know if we'll sign a player.
He's just a puppet. A magnificent ginger puppet.
If we're in for a centre half there's a kid in my lads team who looks dynamite. Quick, strong, clever, good engine. He's only 7, but he could be a real player in 15 years time.

Part of me worries about what our transfer policy would have been had we got promotion. I do wonder who was on that list.
Could you imagine if we went into that league missing a few key spots? Playing people out of position? Probably waiting to see how august pans out before making a few loans?
We'd get fucking murdered.

It does look like McCall has been given a load of different jigsaw pieces and been asked to make them fit. Hard when you have no real idea who the players coming in are. It's worrying from a football perspective, we weren't great against Blackpool. Only a cracking strike from the debutant saved our ass. A better team than Blackpool would have had us beat by half time. It looks like Jake Reeves is going to have to pull us out the shit every week. A good addition to the squad but we really haven't looked to replace 4 of our best 5 players from last season.

For all you know McCall and Rahic could be bestest buddies and you're talking bollocks etc etc ad fucking nauseum.

2 tough games coming up - away at Gillingham and Blackburn at home - if we lose them both the gompers might wake up.
doubtful but they might.
that insane, tight fisted kraut bastard is gonna ruin us.

I got no issues with director of football / head of recruitment role or whatever as long as resources are available for the team.
It's never been openly admitted, but you wonder how little if any involvement Stu has in transfers. if he has none then the resources have to be there to support him.
If it's done half arsed or on the cheap it'll get found out.

its happening, Plastic Bantam has started to blame McCall for defensive frailities.
this is how its gonna go, we'll struggle because The German hasn't invested and hasn't involved the management team in the players he has brought in, and he's interfered and the gompers go from 'everything is brilliant' to 'McCall isn't up to it'
fucking idiots.

I can't get my head around the fact that they are siding with a new German owner who we know fuck all about and certainly don't know his true intentions over a club legend and a bloke I'd trust implicitly to tell the truth.

According to gomper gospel Stuart is an equal partner on a transfer committee that includes Rahic, Abbott and sometimes Mason. McCall's role is sometimes said to be to identify areas of the team that need strengthening and that's it but sometimes he's said to be involved in discussing the actual targets themselves. Occasionally he's said to have the ultimate say on whether or not we sign a player; a 'ginger veto' if you will. That McCall's own words contradict most if not all of the above matters not. It's all working just dandy and McCall is highly respected and valued by Rahic and that's all you need to know. The cognitive gymnastics involved in holding the position that McCall is fully involved in transfer policy and hearing McCall himself say he doesn't know what's going on are impressive. If a little scary.

McCall is pretty much incapable of lying. So much so that he even struggles to be diplomatic. Meanwhile Rahic sits in the background like some sinister garden gnome telling us of plans and strategies that will bear fruit in time because he knows exactly what he's doing even though the last two transfer windows say otherwise. All the while he's taking a huge, steaming Slavic shit in McCall's lap and the Gompers are there with the triple-ply luxury toilet tissue ready to wipe Mr Rahic's balloon knot, sir.

Classic Mrs 147: 'but you've seen that before' Me: 'OK. Game of Thrones Mrs 147: 'it's rubbish, choose something decent' Me: 'we'll stick emmerdale on then Mrs 147: OK love, good choice. As long as your happy with that'. Yeah. My choice.

Just seen the highlights. Jesus, the defending was comical. And Vincelots red card looked nailed on to me.
Good goal from Poleon though

Doncaster looked a level above in terms of pace throughout the team, christ we are slow as a team. And if Reeves gets injured we are royally fucked up the arse, he's gonna have to carry that midfield and try and mop up the shit at the back, he'll be fucked by Christmas. It's not like we were impressive on Saturday against a poor Blackpool side. Early days but that lack of pace when attacking and the worst defence since Parky had the likes of Bates and McHugh trying to play left back and Routis running round like a headless chicken, then i'm not optimistic.

Aside from the amateur defending it wasn't that bad. We looked more threatening up front than last season. There's more goals in us this year, the defence looks shit though.

If you can't keep a clean sheet your going to struggle though. There's a lot of games where you need to scrap for a point away from home and we look brittle as fuck. Apart from Killgallon who's old as fuck the rest at the back aren't worth a wank.
