It's easy to blame 'TUS' when in reality without Bronco and Cougar there are minimal petty spats. Other posters have similar issues with them but that gets conveniently ignored. The problem with Bronco is that he has an opinion on absolutely everything. Every thread he has to comment on until it becomes the Bronco show. The blokes just a fucking bore

Fucking hell...who'd of thought being a MOD (Not the Scooter types) was so bloody hard?! Trying to be as impartial as possible is probably the hardest part I bet. To be honest it was a piece of piss up until about 4 or 5 years ago. All you really did as a mod was clean up the board in terms of duplicate posts or threads, and ban the odd spam bot. As I've said on C&B though, those were the days of SFB, Jantje, Blue Monday, Wisey etc. People who you could have a laugh with and would never get personal even in a heated debate. If someone went too far, a simple PM asking them to just cool it would be met with a pleasant response and that would be the end of it. Modding now is like trying to keep a group of unruly 6 year old's in check, with egotistical wankers provoking anyone who dares to question their opinion.

Honestly RT I can guarantee you Stables wasn't MRM. I've sat on the next row as David for years and I've seen him post as MRM. Unless Stables gave him the details for the account which I doubt. This has got me questioning myself now...I'm 99.9% certain it wasn't Stables I'll ask! If it was Stables I'll have one of those avatar bets in place?

Mainly Bronco's return. As Lofty will agree, Bronco split the mods as much as he splits the rest of C&B. Sticks and myself were the one's who always pushed for a ban, Abbo liked Bronco so was always against it, Ed seemed to flip flop between either side and the rest were fairly neutral. Without Sticks to back me up I was fighting a losing battle. I made my feelings clear when Ed suggested he be allowed back on (I even asked if I could use my sock puppets to swing the vote). At no point did I mention stepping down or issue any ultimatums, but it was clear when it went to a public vote what the outcome would be. The problem with Bronco is that he NEVER admits he is in the wrong, and always plays the innocent party. The amount of times I had to PM him about the crap he was getting up to and he'd always argue he'd done nothing wrong even though it was here for all to see. The reported posts, the deleted posts, the edited posts, the stupid arguments, I just couldn't be arsed going through all that again when we'd actually finally gotten rid of him. Also, as a mod you have to try and be impartial, and can't say what you really think about certain people. You can't go on a little wind up or intentionally annoy someone just for the hell of it. I wanted to have a bit of fun again, so I PM'd ED and told him I was stepping down. I then demoted myself in the admin panel and changed my username - and don't regret it for a second. I wouldn't mod that place if it were a paid position. Especially with those two back - how can you mod someone who never accepts any responsibility? Any kind of quiet word or warning will fall on deaf ears leaving you with a ban as the only option. And if a lifetime ban lasts six months where's the incentive to behave? Ed's fucked up royally by bringing those two back and I suspect he'll have realised it by now.

Out of interest where did the name "The Usual Suspects" come from if anywhere? Or has it something that's just stuck over time. Midland Road Man, aka James Stables. Everytime he mentioned Hanson he'd go on about how the "usual suspects" won't agree. He was asked to name these "usual suspects" many times but never did. We then just labelled ourselves to annoy him. Childish but amusing. Wasn't it Onside that labelled us the usual suspects? I don't recall MRM saying that. From my point of view it was always a laugh pointing out the Gompers MRM included. Some people really do have a serious problem with it though, Tennessee bantam especially.

I think we definitely got named as the usual suspects by someone., I seem to remember a poster naming a few of us, as I was surprised I was included!

'The Usual Suspects' comes from the days of the endless Hanson arguments when posters would use it to refer to those opposed to the lumbering fuckwit. Bronco was chief among those who used the term as is his style of making accusations without naming names: 'the usual suspects', 'certain posters', 'some on here' etc. This gives him free reign to have regular pops at other posters while simultaneously claiming he's done no wrong, 'did I mention you? No'. We then claimed it as our moniker as a bit of a joke response to the vague accusations.
Then bob started a PM conversation on C&B with about a dozen or so correspondents called something like, 'The Usual Suspects Hanson Bashing Safe Space'. This turned out to be the most enjoyable part of the forum so we ended up starting this place just so we could separate various conversations off from each other as it grew too big and sprawling (thousands of responses).
It was never meant to be serious and was always intended as a wind up aimed at those who called us The Usual Suspects. You could say TUS, and ultimately this place, were created by the likes of Bronco so we should all be very grateful to him for that at least.

He annoys the fuck out of me when he makes a sarky comment but puts a question mark at the end of it as if that absolve him from it.

The Hanson bashing safe space was excellent. I never posted on there, I just received an invite to the conversation but there was already about 3200 pages to catch up on so I just signed up here instead.
