Seen us on TV/online but that was the first time I've seen us live this season. All the same inadequacies as last season, but somehow magnified.
It was an utterly rancid game of football. Harrogate scored a scabby goal with about their third forage out of their own half while City played slow, laboured football between their back 4 with zero threat. For the majority of the game it was like Harrogate were playing hot potato - they'd get the ball and just kick it to us and yet we couldn't really lay a glove on them.
Both teams deserved 0 points. Awful, awful, awful.

Everyone grinned and beared the dire football last season as Cook and Lewis were carrying everyone else, and inexplicably, we were actually better set up to get points away from home.
But that's all gone now. No-one leaves a game saying 'I enjoyed that' or 'can't wait for the next one'.
I can see direct debits being cancelled if something doesn't change.

I’m pretty much done waiting for SmaIIwood after today but how have we built a squad so shit he’s pretty much undroppable? We can‘y even take him out of the squad for a break to get his mojo back.
We’ve signed shitloads of players and still seem to have a thin squad. It’s pathetic.

That's me done till he's gone, it's not worth the round trip and the waste of time money and urge to kill.

Today reminded me of last season only without Cook. It was pretty shit but it was better than the shite served up so far this season. The reason it was a bit better is because he went back to the old formation. It’s funny that last season we were all unhappy with the negativity but by playing the system of three CBs he somehow found a way to make us even more negative and dull.
Back to todays game and I actually think that we’d have won if we’d have had Cook or Oliver in the team but not having a focal point in attack and having to play a winger as a striker has shown up how shit our recruitment has been. Why did we sign all of Wilson, Tulloch and Afoka who are all pretty much the same player when we knew that Cook and Oliver were both going to be out for a while?
I actually think that the booing and anti-Hughes stuff today wouldn’t have been half as bad if it was just that game in isolation but it’s been rightfully building for a while and he doesn’t have the good grace of the fans that he needs to bide him some time until Cook, Oliver and Pattison are back fit.
He was never going to see the season out but now he really is on borrowed time. Lose next week and he’s toast.
Thing is as others are saying it’s all pointless who the manager is until we get someone who knows what they’re doing running the whole football operation at the club.

If the injuries up front are that bad anywhere most managers would demand the owner gives them some money to raid the free agent market as cover for a few months. Not us though. We bring in a few untried 19 year olds from elsewhere and throw one in our of position up top. We called the transfer window to be a total disaster, we bought in 10 but 3 have any quality at all. Take a few of them out and it looks a right mess.

First start of the season, legs clearly had gone and you knew that was it.
