I remember thinking how the Peter Jackson and Archie Christie era would be our lowest point. 😂
How naive.

Archie Christie amd Strephen Gent. Jesus.
One of the biggest, fattest, greasiest charlatans I've ever witnessed down at the club. Wasn't a fan of Christie either.

I'm struggling to remember when City were this shite before?
Is this team inferior or superior to the one that struggled in this league under Peter Taylor?
What about the team that Peter Jackson fielded, albeit not for very long?
I'm not counting the teams post Parkinson in League 1, as I don't think any of them were as poor as what we're currently being subjected to.

I've said a few times this squad is as poor and unbalanced as anything we put together during the dark days of 2007-2011. And the longer we go on like this the more I'd argue we're worse as a club than back then. Lawn and Rhodes had the "excuse" of recent(ish) administrations and so on then. What excuse does ol' Ry have? Nothing. Supposedly record revenue and turnover so the balls up we're making now is worse.

The worst side was either - Peter Taylor's last game, weren't we 20th and playing 24th Stockport and needed an injury time goal against 9 men? It just about saved us from being drawn into a relegation fight but at the end everyone looked at each other and knew we were truly awful and gotten away with it. Or the one under McCall in December 2020 which was 22nd. The standard of the league overall was worse in 2011 so I'd be inclined to say that. I do think if Jackson had stayed longer thanb5 games or whatever that would have been the absolute worst.

You're missing the point. We're not making a loss.

But not much else apart from it being one of those cheap ticket games. The fact that County have spent the last decade in the non league but came up last year and now look a massively superior club to City speaks volumes in itself. It makes me wonder if part of the problem with City is akin to what alcoholics and drug addicts talk about when they say that they've hit rock bottom and that was the impetus they needed to make significant changes in their lives in order to recover. City have remained just constantly half pissed but haven't lost their house and wife, so people around them have just grown accustomed to how shit they are and now just accept it as 'normal'.

The problem is until people break the cycle and stop buying season ticket in numbers Rupp and Sparks will continue to deliver mediocrity.
You have to have the balls to walk away. I said just before Hughes went, I was done wasting my weekends on the club and ive stuck to it. Its only been a few weeks so chances are ill run out of things to do but as of now I am not getting a ticket next year. Until both tweedle dump and tweedle dipshit go they are not getting a penny more

My dad’s been going for sixty years, he’s sat through years of shite, and gave up his season ticket at the end of the 21/22 season. He found the only thing he enjoyed was the pints in the Corn Dolly before and after the game, so he does that instead, when it’s quieter. He doesn’t miss it at all.

As someone on the other forum said, the squad is so bloated, recruitment so poor, management so unstable, the 'board of directors' being what they are and the owner as disinterested as he is we're a bad season away from being in a relegation fight. When you're 18th after 17 games and lost to some of the teams that we have who are below is, we kind of deserve to be where you are. You get the scoffs 'we're nowhere near that bad'. I bet the likes of Oldham, Scunthorpe, Southened etc. thought that as well.
I genuinely think we're a few bad injuries away from being in such a fight.
We barely score more than one goal a game and the defence can shit the bed without any provocation. The completely unbalanced, mish-mash of recruitment has led to instability and fragility on the pitch, even when we do get a positive result.
GA has just come in but again it's another season of looking like no-one knows our best 11 or best approach to setting up. If you asked me to describe our tactics at the moment at the moment I wouldn't know what to say.
That aside, in terms of going to games, it irks me when you see the the ones that say 'its all about the day out and meeting friends etc'. All my friends I used to go to games with have all left Bradford with it being such a shithole - but that's another topic. I go with my dad who only started going when I did, and I'm trying to get my kid into it by taking them to games, getting their own season ticket and trying to get excited about it but they're really not interested. Been to about 12 games now over the last 3 seasons they asked me at the Walsall game 'why do we come here as it's just so boring?'. I have no answer to that.
I just want some kind of excitement / entertainment and more of a desire to do well on the pitch, not just tie up more endless sponsorship deals to stop Rupp getting the grump and having to put £5 into the club.
