Thank fuck Gibson didn't score at the end. I couldn't stomach his dad being all over our Twitter hashtag for months. He's a cunt and so is their whingy little mug of a manager. Never liked Paul Simpson.

Yet again scoring goals is our problem. If Cook doesn't score we're not likely to. Played ok second half but no goals. They were a good solid outfit. Never gave our lads a second on the ball. It was like they had twelve or thirteen men on the pitch. Why can't we do that?

Other than lament not getting shots off fast enough or some of our decision making in the final third, I can't have a go too much at them for that. It wasn't a stellar performance but we were orgsnised, tried to be confident on the ball and when we didn't have it and we stood up to one of the better sides in the division and restricted them to very little.
Some credit to Carlisle, they didn't come to just annoy and time waste at every opportunity.
If we are to fail this season you can put your house on it being down to not enough goal threat.

Must be just me that thought that was crap. I've seen better passing from teams on a Sunday morning on a pitch resembling the Somme. Not sure I've seen a player get pretty much everything wrong passing wise like Chapman did.

City, like pretty much every other team in this awful league, lacks the players with the quality on the ball to withstand the press. It can only be lack of stamina that stops more teams doing it because to me it looks like a winner.

It was better than hartlepool but if we get out of this league this season it shows just how terrible the standard of football is in this league. We don't deserve to go up at all yet we're still in with a chance.

We don't deserve to go up at all yet we're still in with a chance. I thought it wasn't any different to what is seen previously. Neither team last night seemed to have core skill rating above non league standard. I thought there was more effort but that was only to match a Carlisle side who started quick with a high press. Ultimately the game was wank

Hughes: 'We tried everything. Changing systems, formations, personnel, we moved to wing backs'.
Shots on target = 1.
So, not quite everything then?

Apparently we were much improved from the Hartlepool game. How exactly? In 90 minutes we hit the bar with Cooks deflected effort and the keeper with a low down save to Cooks shot in the box.Thats it.

It sums up the overall state of the league when one of the auto favourites comes here and we cancel other out where we both at least try to play football, then we're caused more problems by absolute shite that comes here and just try to kill games from the start or has a go blindly becuse they have no idea what to do.
I'm not particularly scared of the better teams in the league from what I've seen if we do finish in the POs, but I am anxious about having enough to damage them if it comes down to one game or we have to go for it and we're chasing a game.

If we made it to the play off final I wouldn’t go. The likelihood of another Hughes’ masterclass of turgid football and zero to one shots on target while submitting to a defeat is too high to justify the time and the outlay. I’d watch on iFollow and be happy with my odds of not missing out on something special.

At least after Millwall I stayed at a friend's and got pissed up with a barbecue for free. If it's the Saturday I might not be able to go anyway so meh.

I'd never miss us going to Wembley but just as with Northampton final I'll walk out after the final whistle. I'll never celebrate winning a best of the rest competition in the 4th tier. Its like cheering the fat kid over the line on sports day

However, that should really be a minimum expectation shouldn't it? There was a point in the second half where he broke away from his man and into the penalty area. The shot or a decisive pass should have been on but at no point during his run was I expecting anything decent and it was no surprise when he fluffed his lines. He's just not very good.

We were talking about this on the way home. He did really well to pinch the ball off someone and drive into the box and it sat up perfectly for him to hit it or at the very least tee someone up but somehow he managed to do neither and just lost the ball. Sums him up.

No goals, no assists this season. He didn't have a fucking clue when he ended up in the box after that run.
He's improved no end the last few games with his movement etc but still lacks any meaningful contribution.

No composure and/or just afraid to take the responsibility of having a bang at goal.
