He was pretty shite wasn’t he? Not out and out terrible like some of the dross we’ve had but just generally poor. He seemed to be considered versatile but didn’t appear to be able to play any position well. Back to non league and good luck to the lad but it was another poor signing. A bit quick and the occasional game where he did a few good things rather than just one.

How many of our ex players go on to bigger and better things? Wyke and Wells obviously did but I reckon 99% move to non league or another League 2 club. Just shows how shit our transfer activity is.

Omari Patrick at Burton, it’s a sad day when Burton are more successful than City. They were in the Northern Premier when City in were in the Premier League. McLaughlin is the most obvious at Burton again, Hearts, Sunderland and Rangers is another. Very few others I can think of though.

What is it with our fans sucking off ex players when they end up elsewhere? As you said most of our players move to a club of obscurity because its their level. Yet we always get the same drivel, 'could still do a job, was unlucky etc'. Oh, and remember the old chestnut 'look after him', who fucking cares, they don't play for us no more.

Assume Novak has something else line up - knee injury since January, 7 months later retires? Must be either very bad or knows its a downward slope from here - possibly doesn't want to just drift on 1 year deals at the arse end of the league / Conference hoping his knee holds up long enough to get some games here and there.
Look at the state of Peter Thorne who was 34 I think when he joined - great when fit, but was often not. Possibly doesn't want to end up like that kind of player in a couple of years.

I wish we had Peter Thorne at his best, he was too good for L2

Suprised at Novak. Must be injuries or something.
Not a top class player or owt, but he's a 10+ goals a season striker at this level and a starter for most bottom L2 teams.

Read yesterday it was the injury that finished him otherwise he’d be our second best forward had we not released him. He probably still would be even with the career ending injury in fairness.

Always thought he had a bit of promise and I had a bit of confidence in his finishing. That’s an impressive plummet the lad’s on though so fair dos to him for that.

I thought he'd fair better then Wyke when they both rocked up. Ever since Neshead slipped a finger in him his career has nosedived.

I remember that his all round game was crap but everyone (including me) thought that he was a decent finisher until he missed an almost open goal back post volley in front on the Kop and then it became obvious that he was just as shit as the rest.
To be fair to him he did announce a week or so ago that he was packing in the pro game and looking for a semi pro club so that partially explains how far he’s dropped. That decision was probably partially made for him though if he was struggling to find a pro club.
