His agent needs a knighthood. It's beyond belief. Good luck to him but he's not L2 level. How do these journeymen keep getting paid gigs? I want me some of that gravy train action.

I’ll admit I was always glass half full with Watt. I ‘wanted’ him to be good therefore I watched him through rose tinted glasses.
What I saw today was a player who pads his passing stats out by playing 1-2s with the centre halves, and pretty much everything else he attempted gave away possession, including one pass where he passed to an invisible left back and it went out for a throw.
Icing on the cake was when he tinned out of tackling Crichlow allowing him to play Cook in to score.
As if he was ever going to a higher division.

A player who had so much potential but is never going to fulfil it. I didn't get the abuse for him being called greedy and for moving to them. He should have been getting it for being shit for us. I did think he was going to cry at one point after his 2 corner by us.

Read this version - there's a few more details here than in the T&A one which has copy and pasted a lot of it. www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/ex-rotherham-fleetwood-and-manchester-united-midfielder-gareth-evans-a-part-of-me-died-when-i-left-portsmouth-for-bradford-3930232Terrible, disgusting signing. Epitomised McCall's practice of signing players he had in his phone book. He says it was step down when he signed for us, we absolutely weren't good enough, part of him died... I get it is a step down but he's phrasing it like it's a death sentence. I'd have a shred of respect for him if he said he underperformed, as an experienced pro he could have just got on with... I get the Adams whinging but he did fuck all to put some credit in his own account. Why did he actually sign for us if it made him so bloody miserable?. He gives no direct reason - closer to home seems to be it and he used us to get that as he signed during Covid. He could have at least added he wanted to help out his old manager. He especially sounds like a bit of a prat when he talks about the travel. Yes - wr all know travel and missing family etc is a commitment to being a footballet but everyone knows that's one of the sacrifices that footballers make so they earn good money and don't have to work a 9-5.

That lad hates us and the feeling is reciprocated, one of the worst players in the history of this club.

I dislike that cunt more than Derek Adams. Was bang average in his first spell, his second spell was a fucking joke of a signing. Typical lazy recruitment, didn't McCall think he was a striker. Fucks sake...

If the lazy wee cunt hated it that much I'm sure Adams would have happily torn his contract up if he'd been asked to. But he's another one happy to take the money for doing fuck all.

He had 4 managers to impress and could have stood out in 4 awful teams. Okay, 3 awful and 1 not as bad (the Trueman one).
The fact he couldn't make any impression and is playing for Paula Radcliffe FC or whatever they're called shows how shit he went.

Fucks sake... Not only did McCall sign him thinking he was getting a striker only to realise in training that he wasn’t any more but he then went and said this out loud. To the press. You really can’t dislike McCall but he’s deficient in far too many ways to ever be a manager.

Theo Robinson left Hartlepool after 6 weeks.
There's a clear path and pattern for almost every player that leaves us. And they ain't going higher up the league. How do these terrible footballers keep landing contracts??

How do these terrible footballers keep landing contracts?? Shows just how far this club had fallen. Make no mistake, until Sellers and the other guy got the job, we were in serious threat of dropping out of the league. The likes of Guthrie, Robinson, Lavery, Evans, the list goes on. Even now we still sign players that have you questioning the recruitment process, nowhere near as many as before but still too many.

Even now we still sign players that have you questioning the recruitment process, nowhere near as many as before but still too many. Looking back 2 years ago it feels like a Twilight Zone episode in that we were 22nd in the table after a similar number of games. We couldn't even manage shots on target at places like Barrow. I really think that would have been the end of us if we didn't get rid of Stuart when we did. The fact total novices who never played professionally made basic fundamental changes and took us upto 11th was the final nail in mccall's managerial coffin. I get not every signing is going to be scouted properly and a lot don't work anyway. But we had so many managers who risked their professional and personal reputations in our terrible, grossly underfunded way of doing things I can't fathom why they didn't call it out. Surely, surely people at the club looked at Guthrie, DMH, Delfouneso, Samuels etc as we signed then and thought this is wrong, absolutely and completely wrong - standards were just non existent.
