We’re getting battered by Luton in midweek.

Trains keeping his cock firmly in his pants until we can do that week in week out. Shame Edin’s dad didn’t do similar.

Did anyone go? Any chance of some ratings? How was Butterfield? Bowyer’s tactics? I’ve only got gomper-infested Twitter and PRNK Pulse to rely on so would appreciate some more objective commentary. O'Donnell -7- solid when called upon, great save from a deflection in the 2nd half. Caddis -7- standard caddis, got forward well and snappy in the tackle. impressed with his distribution as well, used the ball intelligently a few times. O'Connor -7- v good performance today, showed good strength on a few occasions. NKP - 6 solid enough but always has at least one moment of sheer dumbfuckery per game. needs a good centre half alongsid hime to bring out the best in him/ keep his brain switched on. Chicksen -6- had a solid game today. didnt get skinned and put the occasional decent ball forward. couple of ffs chicksen moments but nothing terrible really. Anderson -6- nothing flashy but did the simple stuff well. looked absolutely fooked by the end though Akpan -7- it turns out he can be intimidating and boss a midfield, finally stopped impersonating a timid 8 year old girl. LOB -7- great energy and linked akpan/ butterfield well. decentgoal as well. Butterfield -8- played like a championship midfielder in a league one game. technically a clear cut above this level. Doyle -6- still a bit shit but full marks for his goal as he still had a fair bit to do when the ball came to him. always looks like hes gonna do something dangerous only to do something silly like fall over the ball. Ball -7- good quick feet, enjoyed his little flick in the 2nd half. a constant nuisance. woods - evidently made of the same glass as scannell. looked decent before that but i honestly felt we played better once he went off. mellor - not enough time to influence the game but looked ok before the injury. clarke - not enough time to really do anything but got about and had a bit of a snap at them. clearly loves playing here which hopefully will rub off on the other lads who might not have had such a good time at VP. Tactically spot on today, Bowyer making me feel v smug for supporting his appointment by immediately realising hoofing it long to a team of slow midgets borders on lunacy. Posh didnt look a bad side, they were well organised and looked dangerous on occasion but we largely made them look v average today. Totally contained any threat they did pose.well done big g As for the referee, im fairly sure he stopped the game to go and lick some windows at one point. gave them everything even for a city game and the penalty was a total joke. 2/10 because he had the right colour kit on and his vanishing spray worked The atmosphere today went dead for a bit but once we got the goal it felt a bit like the old times when we weren't so abject. All in all, was well nice coming to a game and not feeling massively depressed afterwards Thanks Jason.

Just noticed Wright still not making the bench. Whoever scouted him must be the only person on earth who rates him.

Didn’t see that coming. NKP and OConnor both very good first half in particular. Solid. Threw themselves in front of the ball. Made tackles Wom headers. Don’t know why NKP still getting shit rating on here he was at least as good as OConnor.
Butterfield was class, especially second half. Not just on the ball, off it too. Closing down, getting stuck in. Akpan too. Another rare display showing how he can take charge in midfield when we’re trying to get the ball back.
Everyone played well today though. All 7s or 8s. Did think first half, we sat off them too much. Not sure if it was part of the plan.
Crowd was bouncing, scored 3 goals, took 3 points. Smashing.

2 average teams with little confidence in the first half and 0-0 was a fair reflection. 2nd half we dominated and once that first goal went in they collapsed. Some appalling refereeing which ended with the worst penalty call you will see all season. All in all decent performance great result but Luton are a completely different animal and we need to improve.
O Donnell 7... couple of great saves but not much else to do.
Mellor 6... Did ok nothing shit nothing special
Wood 6.... same as above
Nkp 7.... looked comfortable and didn't fuck up
O Connor 7.5... Despite the fact he's a cunt he played well.
Akpan 6... Not sure I saw this amazing performance people seem to be talking about. Did ok in bits but disappeared too often
LOB... 7.5 his usual hard working self but really flourished in the 2nd half
Butterfield 8.5 ... superb movement vision passing and unlucky not to get more goals. Fit and confident he's too good for this league.
Anderson 6.... like Akpan
Ball...7 his usual self working hard creating and being a menace
Doyle 7... deserved his goal after repeatedly being fouled every time he got the ball. Never gave up and you can see hes desperate to prove the doubters wrong.
Chicksen 6... wasn't shit really Caddis 7 .... It's Paul Caddis Clarke 0.... Not long enough but is shit any way

Am I the only one to think this is the least we should expect week in week out in terms of people doing their job? Don’t get me wrong, I fucking hate the “I’m a nurse and I only get £6.34 an hour, why should Ronaldo get £3k per second when I work harder than him?” type analogy. We are, however, wanking ourselves off over defenders, and players in general, doing their job by defending/playing properly. O’Connor and K-P played well by doing their job but that is all. Just because they’ve been spineless and shite for most of the year doesn’t get them a free pass to greatness.

Still a long way to go before we look a decent side on a regular basis, it did help playing a woeful Peterborough side, but at least we tried to play some football unlike hoofball HopkinS. At least Bowyer realises Payne, Butterfield and Clarke are essentially the same positional player and you can't play them all together.

I thought they were shit because we made them look shit, when they did get on the ball and go forward they had it in the net more or less from the kick off. We scored 3 because they opened up more to chase the game and we hit them on the break, not cos they were shit.
