On the assumption that the Seven Figures thread is accurate, and I have no reason to disbelieve it, then today reminds us of the way downward as there’ll be no serious money invested. We can always remember December as halcyon days where we clicked, played football and looked like a team. Today is that stark reminder that we are fucked.
The spineless nature of the loss is probably an accurate snapshot of the team and their mentality. Struggling Scunny? No problem. Out of sorts Rochdale? Easy. Any team with craft, guile, heart and bollocks? Not a fucking prayer.
League 2 is now inevitable, and for those inmates of Bedlam who think relegation will do us some good in the long term- it really, really won’t.

If we do go down rupp needs to spunk some cash on us like it's a bukkake flick
Need to respond immediately and win promotion at the first attempt or we're done

Fucking dreadful. Back to the performances we saw when Edin was here. Hopkin refusing to take responsibility again. Last week tinkered with a winning team and picked a shocking line up then made more shocking selections today. The players are crap but people wonder why Akpan is getting overrun in midfield - fucking Hopkin is playing him in there on his own. Same scenario as Doyle getting abuse and booed off when we’ve gone back to lumping the ball to his head again. December seems a long time ago. Hopkin got a few wins and thought that he was Alex Ferguson and it’s all gone to shit again. Doyle getting grief pissed me off. What do people want him to do? Grow 4 inches? Having won a few games by playing football, we've decided to abandon that tactic and hoof it to two front men who can't win a header. Fuck knows why, it's as baffling as the insistence on playing Chicksen and KP at left back ahead of Wood. Or that mental decision last week to move AOC from midfield to defence, McGowan from CB to RB and Caddis from RB to CM. Hopkin's a tinkerman with shit judgement. This isn't ending well.

I was quite happy accepting that we’re shit and going down with a whimper. I’d reached a point of acceptance.
Then December happened.
Now I’m fucked off again.
It’s the hope that kills you.

Yep we’re gone, relegated. The last two games have shown us to be so far behind the opposition again it’s frightening

I'm also annoyed that I took my son.
He's only 8. If I'd know it was going to be an exhibition of 11 men being fisted in public I'd have stayed at home. That's what PornHub is for.

Player reviews, I'll not give scores.
Dick O'Donnell. Kept it respectable with some decent saves. Opposition keeper was the first one I've seen to have worse distribution than him, but then he didn't have to pick the ball out of the net four times.
Paul Caddis. Must be wondering what the fuck is going on. Played OK, he's solid and dependable.
Ryan McGowan. Back to the old ways of looking a bit hesitant and confused, I guess this is what happens when you move the back four about.
Tony O'Connor I know he played on the left and it's not his side, but he was shocking. Third goal was it? Just embarrassing. He's the reverse of Vincelot, better in centre midfield than at centre half.
Nat Knight-Perival. Hopkins big mistake, NKP is a confidence player and playing him at left back against a team that recognised he was out of position and targetted him could well have blown his confidence going forward. Didn't think he was as bad as has been made out but you could almost see the relief when Wood came on.
Hope Akpan. Bossed by Tim Dieng. Slight improvement second half but looks like the big kid at school who's scared that he might hurt someone. Took Josh Wright's mantle of King of the three yard header or pass today.
David Ball. Barely got any possession, not as much defensive work as usual. Poor.
Jack Payne. Same as Ball but looked even less interested. Definition of a luxury player today. Can he actually kick a ball from the corner to the penalty spot without it bouncing? At least the character put the ball there to be attacked.
George Miller. Never got to grips with the hoof, couldn't read whether Doyle was going to jump for them or try to shield them.
Eoin Doyle. Back to playing angry again and who can blame him. Covered a lot of ground to little effect. One chance and he hit it like a six year old girl.
Subs. Meh. Bored now.

You know all those "Edin leaves and results improve, is this a coincidence?" tweets etc.? Think it might have been.

Them wanting to stay is a compliment to him and the staff. He's got a big opinion of himself.

Also why were cunts applauding the second goal and then applauding their lad who'd just raped us when he was subbed off? Fucking wankers. This has made me disproportionately angry.

Keefly -
'Knee jerk reaction to a bad day at the office. Southend deserve credit for scoring 4 class goals.'
There's a few others over there who are saying similar. 'Bad day at the office'. 'World class goals'.
We've played 28 league games and we've had about 10 of these 'Bad days at the office.
How many more realistically can we afford?
In the relegation battles in 97 and 00 at least those sides had a spine, organisation the mentality to fight. Do this lot?
