There’s far too much sentimentality about Abbott. ‘Legend as a player’, ‘one of our own’ etc. Cutting out all the bullshit he’s simply not good enough at his job. He’s either incompetent or hamstrung by Rahic and redundant.
Our fans would run this club on sentiment and as a charity, paying the mortgages of ex players because they were good once or finding a home for shit players now just because they try hard. Our club is steeped in lower league, loser mentality and we found the perfect custodian of that tradition in Edin Rahic.

It's a bit like McCall first time as manager - there was a tipping point where he went over personally talk to fans after another soft away defeat and he should have left then rather than prolong the agony for another year and a half.
Abbots watershed moment was that January window which he delusionally defended. Had he walked then he would have some had sympathy, but then after his promotion in the summer people have openly turned on him.
You could even understand the club keeping a role for him after his cancer diagnosis, but a ceremonial role at least and not one involved anywhere near the first team.
The summer appointment of the senior management team epitomised the hiring policy throughout the club; reekong of amateurness, cheapskateness but probably worst of all if you say to Rahic what he wants to hear he'll treat you very well. Abbott has a been a consistent and prominent part of that policy.
The thing is, there's rot everywhere and almost everyone is a part of it.

If you were principled, you couldn't stay after McCall got the boot, fair enough hang around for Grayson and the transition.
However if Edin was truly bringing all these players, then he should have walked, especially given he was ill. But he's stuck around, even part of the management team for christ's sake.
I suspect a few of those brought in are his: O'Connor, Riley, O'Donnell, Wright, Akpan etc.

Maybe we should tell him to go with Abbott

Its why we're shit.

This 'he's a former player' excuse is getting on my tit ends. Peter Jackson was a former player and more of a legend than Abbott and you can't argue he was a Shit manager for us.
You couldn't help but love Andrew Davies, but he's a thick cunt and you wouldn't trust him with the future of the club would you.
Good riddance Greg and take your contacts from the dog and duck up to Sirs Alex Ferguson with you.
