He's shit. But if we didn't have... 1. The constant defending of him and his stealth assists 2. The fact that he seemed to start whatever his form 3. The inflated opinion of his ability ...he might have gotten away with it. Exactly. We've watched enough shit players down the years to have gotten used to them. Building this drooling lummox up as some sort of superhero was as embarrassing as it was annoying. He was average at his peak and it was all downhill from there.

He was a great foil for Wells. His 10-15 with 20+ from Wells and you've got a decent partnership. We never replaced Wells adequately and Hanson never had a partner like him again.
He's a decent but limited L1/2 striker whose presence will always cause problems and make him an option and a weapon. I know people on here take the piss but he does work hard!
When Hanson was our main goal threat, his limitations were exposed and he looked every bit the lower league striker. I think the time was right to sell for both parties and if we've got £200k as speculated I think we've done very well out of the deal thank you very much.

He'll run around like a headless chicken for 90 minutes i'll give you that Hoochy. Never saw him give less than 100% when in a city shirt, even when Parkinson flogged the fuck out of him when he clearly wasn't fit. It's taken me a few weeks to get used to watching a number nine who doesn't chase after the ball like an enthusiastic puppy chasing a bouncy ball, who understands what being a goal scoring striker is about. And it feels fantastic.

I always thought he was decent. Good left foot. He came to us very raw and filled himself out and bulked up. He improved his technique massively and still wasn't brilliant but I think he made the most of himself.
He peaked for the 2 seasons with Wells both form wise and physically. His injuries hamper him a lot I think.
We've done well to get good money for him.

The "egg on your face" gomping nuthuggers - who trumpeted Hanson's abilities given his transfer to Champions elect Sheffield U (the "see I told you so" lot) must be bemused now at his treatment at the Blades. How come he now keeps getting hauled off or dropped? Surely a player of his class should be first name on the team sheet for the team at the top of the league? I offered a bet with my mate that Wyke will score more at Bradford City this season that Hanson will for the entire season for both clubs. Looks like a safe bet as Wyke has more in 10 games than Hanson has in 25. I am sure he's a good bloke but he lacks the instinct of a striker and possibly of a footballer. I love it when people defend him though.

Even by Hanson's standards 5 league goals is abysmal for a striker.

Another thread on Hanson on the Chef U forum. If you want forum traffic this lad is a must at your club. The new thread is Hanson bingo all over again. So get Roger Tarts list, randomly pick out five or six off that list, stick them on a bingo card and eyes down looking......

Surprised that they see fit to comment if not.

Hanson was at vp this afternoon. Saw him as we left Apparently he was in the Legends suite having his photo taken for the last spot on the wall.

Somewhere in Northampton there's a bench with a legend on it.
