With the Germans out surely this is England's best chance of winning the thing in a long while. It's coming home etc etc.
When was the last time England lasted longer than Germany in a World Cup?

There doesn’t look to be an outstanding team in it.
England’s best chance since 66 really.

Finishing second would be nice. There's nothing bar Spain in that half of the draw.

This is the first time England will have ever played more world cup games than Germany.

Tonight's game is going to consist of two teams trying their best to lose. Should be fun.

Seriously though, i'm good with pretty much anything that happens tonight.
I don't see us winning the trophy - for me its all about having an enjoyable tournament, the players having a go and looking like we've got the foundation of something that can be improved on for the Euros, with a view to winning that. Our bets chance on that basis is to keep momentum and confidence building - topping the group would lend itself to that. Keep the players morale and confidence up etc.
On the other hand, if we finish second, our path looks easier. So that's good too. I actually think we can take Brazil. We're probably more likely to lose to Columbia, or Sweden.

Both teams not wanting to win. Lump on a draw. And a late red card for some Belgian squad filler you've never heard of.

It'll be 34-33 with both teams finishing with seven men. England will even lose at losing.
