I thought we'd lose this 3-0, I'm thinking we could down 3-0 by half time, shades of 2007 again. 3 CBs including Taylor starting, and 2 on the bench? lols!
That aside, I've been taking my kid for nearly 3 years, trying to get them actually interested. Circumstances mean I've got to drag them along otherwise I can't go. Last home game we went to, all I got was - 'dad, this is boring', and after so many games of it, I thought yep, I agree. I've thrown in the towel trying to convert them so home games are off the table for now.

Watching this defence is like watching someone drink driving. How can Taylor be a professional footballer, how? He's a shat bed waiting to happen.

Right after another Cook miss, and you think here we go again, we get our first shot on target, our only bit of quality and it goes in. Mint.

Pretty decent second half that. Signs of potential improvement too. Kept it simple and kept the pressure on their back line. Some nice individual bits of skill. Smallwood seems less involved in the game than under Leslie, but more effective for it.

Better 2nd half but that back 3 was poor first half. Not because of the formation but because Taylor is shite, platt struggles with positional discipline and Kelly isn't quite at first team level.
Thought Gilliead Richards and Halliday were great again with Walker having a better 90 rather than a great 5min cameo. Smallwood going about his work quietly. GA can work with this squad but he has to learn how detrimental to this team Taylor is and fuck him off ASAP.
All in all its 3 points and it doesn't change the fact Rupp and Sparks are cunts

First half was shite. Second half better.
It's a better approach than under Hughes, at least we're trying to win games. We're massively lacking in ability and confidence so I'll take the 3 points.
Season's wasted though. We go again next year ✌️

For the 2nd week running I've been busy on a Saturday afternoon and only able to watch from half time.
I personally think we look thoroughly decent under the Alexander chap

I liked how we went looking for a second instead of sitting back like we did under Jurassic Mark. I like the way Alexander thinks and speaks - He seems to get that we need to keep things simple and we'll progress. Nice to see Chapman and Oliver back.

John Coleman is a massive wanker. Reminds me of Hoggle from Labyrinth.

I managed to watch about 50 minutes of that either side of the goal.
First half was dull, one of those where one of those errors we made could easily be punished. But also the first game in 5 where we haven't conceded in the first 10 minutes, so an improvement there. The first halves overall in games have been terrible, someone put a table up based on first half performances this season and were in the bottom two I think.
Second half was not great but better. Looked more solid. Without knowing off hand I think that's just the 4th clean sheet this season? Bloody needed that after some of the games in the last month. Kelly should be killing the game off with that header.
I'm not going to shit on anyone too much. The attitude is changing which is a big enough task in itself after the rot Leslie set in. But better footballing / more clinical sides out there could still hammer us.
It's good to see Smith finding form. He looked like a spare part for the first 3 months of the season and we finally look like we're not totally relying on Cook for goals.

Despite our predicament as a club i still much prefer walking away from VP with a win like yesterday. And regardless of my views on Rupp, who i'd still wish to see leave, i am hoping that Alexander does manage to turn it around.

This is what our detractors don't understand, all we want is to be happy with our club. We're not arrogant enough to think we deserve unlimited success we want to see our cub being given a chance to succeed at the job in hand. We have the right ingredients to be a lower mid table championship club,we just keep getting the wrong people in. It's not difficult to fix and that's our issue

Seeing the outbreak of cringe and cheap jibes after a rare win is disheartening. Its like any criticism of the club automatically becomes null and void.

GA could be a better appointment than the previous managers we've had since McCall was fired in 2018. I think he's a better fit in general than Leslie, Adams, Bowyer, Hopkin etc. My main fear was GA having to rip everything out - again - and go through more chaotic transfer windows to cut down this obese squad while bringing in players he actually wants in. Problem for any manager here is if they do get a promotion, then what? How does the sustai... I mean, debt-free model work in a higher division as it stands when they'll be higher expenses? That's the worry. The current League 2 approach in L1. The 'We're finally here, now what do we do?' That we can all see coming if it happens. Not saying Rupp has to put millions in to prop up player wages.... but if there's proper investment to develop more Pointons for future sales that's a source of income right there.
