I don't know if it's the manager, approach or whatever, but very slightly interesting is that in 4 games under McDonald we've scored 5 goals; not a lot by any means, but scored by 4 different players scoring their first goals for the club. There seems to be much less over-reliance and pressure on Cook to score. The level of finishing overall hasn't been great, but at least other players are getting the goals. I don't think Dinosaur of a manager, petty too wanted anyone else to score other than Cook at times, almost as if it would upset the perfect game plan he had laid out in his mind; score a goal then defend it to the end. This thread is damning in its highlighting of Hugh3s tactics during his tenure at VP. As Hob points out with his early post the warning signs were there early last season and it ultimately cost him his job. He never understood at all what was needed at the Khazi level with limited players. MacDonald hasn't reinvented the wheel, he's just got us grafting and putting in a shift. And at this level that will generally win you more games than you lose. A bit of a sad indictment of the standard of football down the football pyramid but you always play to your greatest strengths.

The more games we watch without Leslie the more I think he was deluded to the point of being mentally ill in his approach. When he came in he said the right things, which resonated with everyone, but he ended up looking totally oblivious to what was going on on the pitch. Like the meme of the cartoon dog in the house on fire while he says 'Everything's fine'. It's almost like he thought he was some mix of Midas and King Cnute. Thinking, that, with all his years and trophies at levels we'll never see, all he had to turn up to our floundering football club playing in the barbarian league of hoofballs and big lumps, try and play like a Premier League team does and it'll be some kind of football revolution. He got away with it last season but bought himself some time in the summer to change and improve it. Instead he ended up doubling down, changes too much because he thinks it'll just work, and got caught out. Best thing we did was fire him when we did. Otherwise it would have been a repeat of McCall V3 with us stuck in 22nd at Christmas again.

Honestly watching yesterday’s game and I’m looking at four players from our starting eleven who either aren’t good enough or we’re playing poorly. That’s over a third of the team and we still should have won against the side now sitting in fourth. We’re making such a ballache of getting out of this league it’s unbelievable and it should embarrass the people running the show.

I'll be honest I thought they were shite yesterday, terrible in central midfield which is generally bypassed and comes as no surprise to any sane City fan.

It's just straightforward, front foot football. We're still lacking in attacking quality, though getting Pattison and Chapman back will help I think. I also think Oliver might surprise a few people in a side that actually tries to attack and get crosses in.

I don’t think Cook is anywhere near fit cos he’s looking for fouls again all the time instead of trying to win the ball.

Oliver will be quality in a team banging in crosses.

The "penalty" only happened because he missed a free header and the centre half was caught unawares.

They do consider themselves better players than they actually are.
SparksY doesn’t seem to grasp that continuing to sign these players makes him the twat.
