Not a gomperism as such but this school of thought irritates me a little bit. Sticking with a manager isn’t in and of itself a plan. For it to work we’d have to hope, by dint of sheer coincidence, we’ve alighted on exactly the right man for the job at precisely the time we’ve arbitrarily decided to just stick with a manager.
The club needs to set the ethos and the manager needs recruiting according to that rather than persisting with a manager firstly in the hope that he can turn it all around given time and secondly simply because sacking managers before hasn’t brought us success. It’s nonsensical to think that switching strategy by sticking with a substandard manager will bring the success that sacking substandard managers hasn’t.
This is a symptom of a complete lack of leadership at the club. McCall can’t be expected to change that even if he had the ability. Which he doesn’t.

He is getting some, but I agree still not enough.
If we end up going down or out of business I can't see how anybody could be that blind not to see who has been the single constant.

Even Rhodes isn't the issue here, clearly there's a budget he's been told to stick to. And that comes from Germany.
The owner needs to put up or shut up.
And if it isn't coming from Rupp then he needs to lay down the law.

Again he is, i have it on good authority the full salary cap is available and Rupp offered to put more money in even in January and Rhodes said no

If this is true then wtf is the cunt playing at? Why was Stuart publicly saying he was happy with the squad back in August? Why the lack of urgency to spend the full salary cap despite voting 'against it' ? Something seems off. No doubt about it. Rhodes taking the piss, knowing he can just play the Rahic card. And the gompers will gomp it up and throw a hissy fit about 'the evil one' ruined our perfectly run morally pure club. It was Richmond's fault It was Gibb's fault It was Lawn's fault (before we struck lucky with Parky) Never squeaky clean Rhodes. Yet who sanctioned the sale of the club to despot Rahic and his naive backer? The sad thing is the gompers will turn on Rupp before they blame Rhodes.

He's no interest in running us Of course he doesn't, he never did. But why sit on your hands if Rhodes is defying him and underspending and ruining his investment? He was quick enough to eject Rahic. The idea that Rupp wants to spend cash and Rhodes won't let him seems a little strange, given Rupp owns the gaff and can pull rank. Rupp didn't get rich by being an idiot. Not that I doubt your sources, we've always done strange.

This isn’t the stiffest defence of McCall a person could make.

If he invested £14m in us and has this to show he deserves to lose it.

Mo on the Radio Leeds phone in after the game says once Kurtis Guthrie is back he will fire us up the league...yep I couldn’t believe my ears either.
Really need to keep the general public off the tv & radio.

I notice the hardcore McCall brigade has been trotting out lines such as 'show the man respect', 'he deserves our respect' etc
Maybe. But he is in very big danger of taking us into non-legaue. Let's see them whine about respect then.

Abdul destroying gompers: Some of the comments I've seen over the last few week are quite demoralising. 'We've been a 3 and 4th division club all our lives, know your role peasant.' I don't think being relegated will actually bother these people, in fact it will be a feather in their uber fan cap as 'they were there' when we beat Guiseley at Nethermoor. Almost to a point where I wonder why I bother supporting us.

Original tweet - With people like this, you wonder if they adopt such an outlook across all aspects of life - 'I've had minimum wage most of my working life, I shouldn't be entitled to anything else', 'My kid failed his GCSEs, I told him that's it now, don't bother wanting to do better after that'... 'Demoralising' definitely is the feeling. I said the other say about getting fed up of being embarrassed on a Monday morning at work when the lads in the office talked about the weekends results - even though we're all working at home at the moment they don't even bother asking me in the chat anymore, probably as they're fed up of asking why we're so shit and me saying why we're so shit.
