England are dogshit. They're lucky that they keep playing teams who are even worse. What the fuck is going on? Sweden next and the city of the back end of last season could have beaten them today. Swiss coach and players should be having a team bonding trip to Dignitas.

Swiss coach and players should be having a team bonding trip to Dignitas. Apart from the Netherlands in 96 I can't remember us ever looking convincing against a decent team in a proper tournament. We're better than that. There's something fundamentally wrong with our mentality that means we can't do it when it matters.

A tough test last night against a team of horrible cheating cunts. Thought England's young uns did well to overcome that, and the agony of conceding a 93rd minute equaliser, to go on to win the first penalty shoot out for England.
Cheer up you negative fuckers! It's coming home...

We're not that bad. And it's clearly a work in progress. Controlled the game for 75 mins last night and the mistake was the Dier change and then sitting off. Should've been Rashford for Sterling to get energy up front again.
Fair fucks though. To recover from that last minute goal and being behind on pens and dig it out, that takes some nerve

It's coming home... Thing I don't get is why Colombia didn't play more football. When they did they looked streets ahead of England, granted with Eric "Truly" Dier on the pitch, but also without Colombias best player. It seemed like they ended up distracting themselves more than anything else.

They surrendered the initiative and it nearly back fired.

I agree, I just think they lost all their confidence, and it took them awhile to recover. A better team would have made them pay for that. I hope they learn from that.

I watched last night's game in BCM square magaluf, and it was mental. But it was also difficult to appreciate all aspects of the game.
Back home now and I've just watched it again, without the tension and whilst being able to listen to the game. I underestimated how profound a moment last night's win could be. That was like an away game. Packed with Columbia fans, for a young side to overcome that atmosphere, the scandalous behaviour of the Columbia players and staff, the last minute equaliser, the dreaded penalties... to overcome all that is immense. The monkey off our back regarding the 'penalty curse'... dont understimate what that means psychologically for the team and the fans. Its no longer inevitabke that we lose on pens. History doesn't have to repeat itself. Look at the reaction when we won - that outpouring of joy and relief. The circumstances of last night COULD be the moment that forges this team into a proper team. With belief and resilience.

But this could be the start of something. Our youth teams are winning tournaments consistently, but that penalty spectre has hung over us for so long it's become a self fulfilling propechy. Mentally we had to win one. All teams need a 'moment's to forge them. This could be ours. Now watch us lose to fucking Sweden.

All opposition managers will just tell their left midfielder to sit on Walker and wait for the inevitable "what the fuck?" mistake that he throws in to every match. Don't fuck it up and England have to score two, which provided you don't give away penalties or forget how to mark at corners, they haven't been able to do, even against a team who only saw a football for the first time in March.

Your confidence is so lolsome. England have no attacking midfielders able to thread a pass to Sterling or Vardy from about 35 yard out and no hope of getting through an organised defence apart from set pieces and penalties. The fact they've scored once from open play this tournament, and that lingard isn't going to hit another like that, speaks volumes.

Absolutely sublime.

I'm getting all Kevin Keegan reading the mardy arse guff on here. 'I'd love it if we win it'......
FWIW can I just clarify I don't think we'll win it, or make the final, but I am really pleased the team got through to the QF's and given us for once a decent moment to enjoy at a finals.

We will get smashed in the final vs France or Brazil but getting there is a great achievement
