I'm not a Geo-politicist. I don't even know if that's a word.
Are we all going to die? Should I start digging my shelter?

You don’t need a shelter stand out in the open. The consequences of a nuclear attack are so bad, you are better off dead.

As for Syria it’s all bullshit. It’s the usual ‘regime change’ bollocks all over again. Between Assad and the Russian ISIS is all but wiped out in Syria and we’re supposed to believe that arguably the most benevolent ruler in the region has suddenly decided that the best tactic in a war he’s already won is to gas his own civilians? Give over.
Much of the shit they’re using to push the war and the idea of gassed civilians is badly faked too:
Putin and Assad are the ‘good guys’ in all of this - it’s the West that created this mess. Trump wanted out but has since been ‘advised’ and changed his mind. One thing I wanted from that twat was to be stubborn enough to ignore the little gremlins that whisper in the ears of politicians but he’s going the same way as all the rest and ‘intervening’ where he has no business being.
If it came to it (and it were possible) I’d stand with Putin and Assad.

How much does all this smack of Trump showing that he's not in Putin's pocket? No Russian casualties from the missile attack, no need for any actual retaliation from Putin other than "you better watch it" wink wink. Unfortunately it's US domestic politics being played out by killing people in a far off land, as it has been for the last seventy years.

If it came to it (and it were possible) I’d stand with Putin and Assad. I never got that after 5-6 years of atrocities, genocide etc committed by all parties that now we’re hitting them with air strikes? The many thousands killed by Isis - shot, beheaded, set on fire, drowned, eviscerated, thrown to their deaths etc - that this was the final straw? And yes, straight away I though as far as I was aware Assad, as much of a cunt as he is, was on the verge of victory on al fronts, so why on earth do something such as gas his own people? Even if he did do it to lure the US into a war with them, Russia and whoever else he’d have to be batshit crazy. I’m no tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist but to me this one stinks of bullshit.

Am I the only one who doesn’t care if Assad did gas his folk or not?
He might have he might not have. Beyond that I really don’t see why I should care.
If he dropped gas bombs on chesterfield or Lincoln I might take note but a tin pot rat infested Damascus suburb? No ta mate.
As you were.

Hoochy's right; it's always money. Money for oil, money from banking, money for land. There's money in war and money in rebuilding after war. Plus there's a constant, steady stream to be made from puppet governments.
Assad isn't on side so he needs to be replaced with someone who is.
